Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Nothing. I loved every corner of this place
I loved everything about the hotel. Not only the uniqueness that was PERFECT, but everything in general. The room (mine was N8) was incredible to me. I felt every day as if it were my own home. Clean, spacious, comfortable…. I would return a thousand times with my eyes closed there. And the staff… always very attentive and very pleasant. Loved every moment there. The place of the breakfast…. EVERYTHING. You are a fool if don’t choose this hotel to stay in Brugge

Leaving was painful. Wish we had stayed longer.
Superb hotel experience! Excellent location, lovely room, great breakfast & wonderful hosts. Breakfast was a special treat with so much attention to detail that we failed to take it all in at first. The vaulted ceiling in the breakfast room made for a charming atmosphere as we gulped our bottomless capuccinos. We can't say enough good things about our stay.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the beginning of April. We received a warm welcome and were given lots of information about Bruges as well as recommendations for eating out in the area. Turns out there is a fantastic restaurant right next door to the hotel which is worth booking for a meal. Bedroom was lovely and was very cosy and comfortable. The breakfast selection was excellent. Eva was fantastic and friendly at breakfast time. She also gave us a great amount of help in booking our train journey back to the airport and even went to the trouble of making up a breakfast package for us as we had to leave early morning. We can't praise Eva and Neils enough for the enjoyable stay we had in their lovely hotel and we wish them all the best in the future. Hopefully we will meet again.

Lovely cellar breakfast room and social space, cute outdoor courtyard.
Eva and Niels were the perfect hosts. The hotel is well situated , central but quiet.

There was absolutely nothing not to like
Perfect location.. one minute walk to the Markt Square. Spotlessly clean. The new owners have nailed hospitality. Upgraded to a suite just because they could.

Parking. But there's really not a lot you can do about that when you're in the middle of a historic city.
We loved the charm of this hotel! Beautiful, historic, centrally located! The breakfast was fantastic and our hosts were extremely kind, knowledgeable and helpful!

I didn't dislike anything. A traveler should know that there is no elevator.
The hotel is lovely and charming on the exterior and interior The staff - both of them - are welcoming and gracious. They are knowledgeable about the city, the building, and ithe attractions of Bruges and also about transportation and communication. The location is excellent; with walkable distances to the recommended sites. Bring good shoes for the cobblestones! There was good security with two locked doors in the evening and night. My room was spacious with many amenities. There were ceramic cups and metal spoons provided for coffee or tea! There is a Medi-Mart at the Burg (very close ) for pharmaceutical needs

excellent location, very friendly staff, quaint old hotel with good facilities and clean well looked after. the location was very central within easy walk of all the sights. the staff were more then helpful with suggestions for day trips.

Maybe more options for breakfast. (In my case I can’t tolerate bread that much)
The owner is super friendly and very kind. The hotel is perfectly located , near to the main square in a quiet street. Plenty of restaurants nearby and pubs. Walking distance to all main landmarks. Highly recommended

Stairs were a little steep and hard to manoeuvre with suitcases when laden down with coat and scarf etc but fine without cases
