Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Apparently, the staff doesn't like talking. You ask something and it seems that they answer out of obligation. The kitchen doesn't smell very good, but it's ok. The breakfast is too simple. I'd add more options such as different kinds of fruit.
The location is PERFECT. Close to Avenida Paulista and to she subway station.

The last receptionist. He was intended to say that I ate more than one sandwich at breakfast and he was very loud in the morning. And also he didn't treat me well as much as the three previous receptionists did. I don't remember his name unfortunately.

The bedding could definitely be better and the lockers should be bigger. The rooms are not so big, so with no space in the lockers, people just leave their stuff spread around the room. Nevertheless, it was a good place to stay,
The location is perfect, a block away from Paulista Av., and breakfast is just fine, simple but with the right amount of food. The staff is very friendly and kind, besides being responsive and attentive to the guests.

Hostel is smaller and older than the photos are showing. Showers are small. Well, everything were too small for me, actually. I had the smallest room upstairs with weak wooden bed and broken plugs. It’s may be fun and ok for a skinny girl as I am, but bigger people and tall guys were afraid to sleep on the upper bed. It’s just too shaky lol. But I had a great time at the hostel and loved it at the end. Just be sure, that comfortable bed and shower is not the main point for you. Or at least ask the room downstairs, I think it’s a bit better.
Perfect central location and good breakfast. I met very nice people there!

-Toilets are a bit strange: They're very small so you can hardly close the door and the doors have gaps -The bathroom for women was a bit small, so when there were several people at the same time it was difficult to manage it
-Very good location close to the main street (Av. Paulista). I was traveling alone and I felt very safe there -A small breakfast is included in the price (for me it was enough: Coffee, a sandwich, cereals and fruits) -Staff is friendly

After i checked out one staff member would not let me boil hot water to make a cup of tea. I was not cooking just boiling for one cup. It was unbelievably petty. Other staff members were fine.

I don’t recommend this hostel. Why? 1. The first sentence I was told (with Google translator) while checking in was that I will be kicked out if I break the rules (is it racism or what?) 2. staff does not speak any English 3. I was with a friend, we were checked in in 2 separate rooms and we were not allowed to visit each other and be in each others room 4. breakfast is just ONE sandwich and one fruit. Very poor one. 5. I checked out in the morning and later in the afternoon i wanted to take a shower - I was told I need to pay 30 reals to do so 6. kitchen very poorly equipped + the smell is super bad 7. I had a cockroach in the room in my locker. I’ve visited 50 countries and this was worst hostel ever. I can see there is a lot of comments from previous years about the staff being rude and even though there are replies from the hostel about actions being taken to improve it - apparently no action has been taken as the staff is still very rude.

The owner is very rude,.horrible will not visit again ..not recomend.. Smell is not good for the blanket and bed sheet ,old pillow .. The worst is the old man who act like the owner ,very rude..
