Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesThe breakfast was awesome and the selection of food and sweets. specially the Custard...The location is perfect, so close to Selaron steps just few steps away. The location is perfect also for Acai which is in the canteen nearby....there is also a Barbecue stand which sets up in the afternoon on the side of the hotel....a lot of cheap eatery and foodtruck also close to the Hotel itself.

United KingdomWiFi was a bit unstable, it kept disconnecting which was a problem which led me to leaving the hotel. If the Internet is important to you then it might be best to choose another hotel.
Room was very big and good value. The bed was a good size and the reception guy was very polite and knew how to communicate.

FranceThe neighbourhood didn't feel super safe but it's not the hotel fault. Plus never had a problem during our 13 days there so it's not a big issue at the end.
The staff was very nice and arranging. They listened to our various demands (change room for wifi, cleaning schedules, advices for some activities...). The room was clean and comfortable.

United KingdomNo blinds or curtains!! (That's a first!) Hard bed and small top sheet. No coat hangers so I bought some and left them. Nothing to stop mosquitoes entering the room as big gaps around the A/C. (I did not see mosquitoes but was bitten perhaps outside)
Staff could not de enough for me despite struggling with language problems. My suitcase did not arrive from the airport so had a bad week without it and they were really kind . Thanks Guillem and Rodrigo! Wonderful self service breakfast. Fresh fruit, eggs, sausage and cold meats and cheeses. Toaster and sandwich maker . Large, clean room, big beds and good standard bathroom with plenty of hot water. Large fridge. Air conditioning Central location. All in all exceptional value for money

NorwayBe warned there is a room on the 3rd floor which reeks of smoke. It was probably allowed to smoke there before. We complained as it was impossible to sleep there and luckily got another room, but guests should double check before paying, especially in busy seasons like carnival.
The room we ended up with was spacious, clean and tidy.

NetherlandsFirst of all, no one at all spoke English at this hotel. So it was hard to get any recommendations. And the street gets very noisy at night (especially around the weekend), so it was almost impossible to sleep without thick earplugs and a pillow over my head. The curtains were torn and the room was very very tiny. But what made my experience the worst were breakfasts. The man who is supposed to be wiping the tables was extremely rude, touching my stuff without asking or even saying hello, and shouting random things in Portuguese in a very aggressive tone. On top of that, tables were constantly dirty and full of plates, so there was nowhere to sit every morning. Even though the whole staff team is sitting there having breakfast and acting like they own the place, shouting and singing out loud while the hotel guests are trying to enjoy their breakfast at peace. Breakfasts were definitely something I wasn't looking forward to and always had to rush through them to get it over with as soon as possible. Also, the neighborhood is very sketchy and I felt unsafe walking around even during the day.
If you are looking to stay in the city center (which unless it has a specific reason, I wouldn't recommend), then this hotel has the perfect location. It is right around the corner from the famous stairs Escadaria Selarón. And it is quite cheap for the fact that breakfast is included. The young man at the front desk was very accommodating on arrival and early check-in was possible, even free breakfast. But that's where it ends unfortunately.
