Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaIt's not a fault of the hotel owner at all; however, there is a shelter of some sort. There were people sitting/camping on the sidewalk right behind the hotel. If I were not staying with my husband, I would've felt uncomfortable walking around the facility at night.
The host was super attentive, Our room had a view of the river, and it was enormous! The facility is close to the skytrain station, which made traveling to Vancouver and other neighbouring cities so easy.

CanadaIt located in an old section of town where there were lots of homeless & drug users. It’s a heritage building with lots of charm although the furnishings are dated & a bit uncomfortable. There is free parking in the back of the building, although limited. Some folks who don’t use ear plugs would have a difficult time sleeping with the sky train going by every 5 minutes. Not sure if there is any on site staff. Didn’t feel like there was any one close by to ask questions. Definitely for the independent traveller & not needing any support.
It was a short walk to the Skytrain station although the sky train went right beside the building. It was clean with free parking. There was an elevator so one doesn’t have to walk up 5 flights of stairs.

I like the layout of the apt/room. the close proximity to train station. There was no front desk.

CanadaOnly the noise of the monorail.
When you step into this building, you have entered the history of Canada and Vancouver. A building 112 years old (so far) and very beautiful. I am very happy to have spent a night in this building. The host who lives in this house with his wife is very kind and generous. I wish health to both of them. Little bit noise of from the train but only till 1 am.

CanadaThe stove top had not been cleaned in a Very long time. There was a mouse but that has to be expected in an old heritage building. There was parking but it was smack in the middle oh a homeless encampment. On the day I left there were two fellows who had set up there shelter in the front entry way and were not going to move. That was interesting.
It was like stepping back into time. If you like old world Edwardian architecture and being 1 block from downtown New Westminster it's the place for you. A whole apartment for a very reasonable price. Very large bedroom and a lovely living room and dining room. A big claw foot tub that you could almost swim in. It is not fancy but it has an old world charm and the oldest elevator in Vancouver.

CanadaThe VCR wasn't hooked up, and it had no cables. The provided videos were useless. The wooden floors were very noisy. The claw footed bathtub had no stopper, leaving my husband's desire to have a bath thwarted.
We liked the ambiance. The enormous suite was nicely furnished in a style suitable for a building built in 1912.

CanadaThe hotel is right under the Skytrain. this is convenient for taking the Skytrain places as the boarding platform is right there, but less convenient if you are a light sleeper! Also, the hot water was seriously lacking. I'm not sure if we just picked times in which everyone was showering or what, but it took forever to heat up and even then it wasn't that hot.
We weren't able to make check in on time due to ferries! The Hotel was in contact with us and us with them , and a lovely lady stayed till we could get there. she told us a little about the history of the building including the elevator which is the oldest in the area! very nice and willing to show and explain things.

CanadaThe pull out couch and it's resident mattress felt like they were purchased in 1810. Some things need updates on the regular folks, mattresses being #1 on that list for me. Having a safe injection site next door to the parking area is a bit unnerving. Some of the addicts were actually very nice and held the gate for us but they were few and the rest were in a very unfortunate condition. The smell of urine is heavy near the back entrance. The sound of the skytrain is loud until 1am. I consider this hotel and it's surroundings as a place to experience Vancouver along with some of its current challenges. I will add, not for the faint of heart.
The property is very unique, built in 1810. The Mansions have the honour of hosting the oldest licensed elevator in BC. The units are spacious and well appointed. The style is original, somewhat eclectic and cowboy boots wouldn't feel strange to wear here. The location couldn't get better in my opinion if you want to visit Vancouver. The New West skytrain station and the Safeway are both directly across the street.

NigeriaIt was an old building with wooden floors that were squeaky as you walked on them. The hotel is also right beside the Sky Train route so the constant buzz of the train passing by every two minutes will not be tolerable if you need peace and quiet.
The ambience, the historicity and proximity of the hotel to Central BC (New Westminster) was a major plus. There's everything around it...restaurants, access to public transport, cinemas, pubs, school, etc.

CanadaUnfortunately the location is a high density area for drug users. Once there was a person at the front door who had just injected and was blocking that door. The back door in the alley was the only option. A short while later a small group was gathered and injecting at the back door entranceway. Some guests may find this environment disturbing.
The host was very efficient and accomodating

CanadaNo air conditioning, I must have missed that in the description. But it is on the shady side of the building, so it was fine with the fan.
Eclectic and cool interior of the 1 bdrm apartment! The original woodwork throughout is worth the stay, inc the elevator. Location in the area was actually pretty quiet for traffic on a Saturday night.
