Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaMore clarity /transparency on how valet parking worked - particularly for check-in (as curb space is limited on street) . Ended up delaying checki-n process by almost 30 minutes!
Staff was very friendly and hospitable - and worked hard to help with odd questions (e.g. needed a breakfast place open before 8am Sunday)

CanadaOverall, we booked the suite for four guest, the room was set up for two guess, had to phone down for extra towels, pillows. As it was a kitchenette it would of been nice for two more cups, glasses, bowls and plates.
Location, was handy to everything in the down town core, Room was good, balcony was big, bed was fine, Hot water took a while to come out the shower. Staff was friendly and efficient, breakfast at Ruby’s was great.

CanadaSituated in a good location in downtown Victoria, the kitchen suite is great for being able to prepare meals. The room is quiet and comfortable. It is walking distance to The Empress, Beacon Hill, China town and great stores on Government street.

United States of AmericaOur room was on the 2nd floor and the view was of the roof of another building and its HVAC equipment. The heater was pretty loud inside the room. Always wish for a pool, but for the price of this hotel, I can live without.
The bed was very comfortable (firm how we like it, which is so rare for a hotel bed)! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The suite was large and met our needs. Room was clean and modern.

CanadaIt’s downtown, the streets are noisy at night, Homeless people yieling. And the music on some nights…I don’t know where it comes from…
Location is great, walking distance from good spots and the harbour. The valet parking adds up to the bill but they were efficient in retrieving the car when needed.

CanadaThere's currently no dedicated shuttle service from Victoria Airport. This is a disgrace for a major Canadian city. Hotels can help by linking together to create a shuttle service. Note to city: NOT EVERYONE DRIVES A CAR
Excellent location in the city centre. I needed quick access to things and this location provided that.

CanadaOne thing that I really could not bear was the noise from the street, it is not a soundproof room and you can still hear anything from the street. One more important thing is my room is right above a nightclub, so I could clearly hear the sound and banging from my room, so I was sleeping in a banging room.
Everything was almost perfect. Like location, the staff, the bed and they have a valet service to park my car. The facilities were also almost perfect.

SwitzerlandGet rid of those abismal, enormous and extraordinarily ugly air conditioning units. No better source of germs. Fans work just fine on the exceptionally rare nights in Victoria when the tempersture exceeds 35°. I swear we Canadians sit in Canada Goose jackets and hug the air conditioners. While in Eruope they simply wear summer clothes and enjoy the warmth.
There IS no breakfast. None. Just an independant business next door

CanadaThe bathroom floor around the side and back of the toilet was dirty. After showered and got out I noticed a little water got on the floor between the bathtub and the toilet. When I wiped up the water I couldn’t believe how dirty the floor was in that area. …Anyways. It’s clean now! O_o
