Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Heaters couldn't be set within the room, felt like I was being cooked when I left the windows closed.

Rooms were too warm, they tried to mitigate this with fans. Neighbours were a little loud
Room good for price paid. Staff we really pleasant, quick and easy check in and out. Liked that it supported YWCA. Excellent location close to the centre.

The place hosts a lot of young people around puberty/young adolescence age. Compared to scouting centres (like KISC in Kandersteg, Swiss or the Jasper Hostel) there’s not much regulation on how they take care of their surroundings. Loud music, leaving the kitchen and kitchen tools dirty, and sometimes loud and uncomfortable talks and smoking pot outside (getting the smoke in our room with the windows closed…) it would make things more comfortable for all if rules on this would be visible and maintained. The rooms are very basic giving a bit a ‘monastery’ feeling with the brown curtains/doors, composite/epoxy floor (no soft carpet), basic washroom facilities, main light switches outside of the room and very basic interior of the rooms. It looks ‘emotionless’.
Convenient location, spacious rooms, friendly staff. Big plus that it has a kitchen so you can cook your own (healthy, cheaper) meals instead of going for dinner every time. This makes the slightly high price (compared to places with similar comfort) acceptable. Though everything in Canada seems expensive, so this fits just right in. As comparison a place like this in Switzerland would cost half the amount… I saw quite some complaints about the heating, I really didn’t find the rooms too hot and if it was slightly hot I could just easily open a window. The beds are not as terrible as described. They’re hard, compared to most Canadian/US hotel beds but standard for a EU hotel bed. Improvement could be a thicker top mattress on top of the standard mattress. Free parking! Despite the simple rooms, stay etc. we decided to stay a little longer as everything felt acceptable enough.

Heating too hot. Had to adjust temperature with opening windows. Opening windows allows noise to enter. Trains! Tap in basin needs fixing. Hot water takes along time to flow. We read about that. Lighting is lacking for reading.

The rooms were extremely hot with no ability to adjust heating, unfortunately affecting my sleep on each night of my stay.
Good location, easy walk into town and close to the bus stop. Staff mostly friendly and helpful and provided recommendations. Rooms clean with fresh towels provided daily.

The room was way too HOT! There was no way I could cool the room temperature except by opening the windows wide and/or running an electric fan in the room. I also did not like a shared gender bathroom. Room lighting was poor for bedtime reading.
Pleasant front desk staff. Good location. Clean throughout. Good storage space for your own food in the kitchen area with kitchen utensils provided. Bed was very comfortable. .

Great location, staff were friendly We were given fresh towels and bin change everyday, however the floor was not clean. Shared kitchen was good and kept relatively clean.
