There were no chairs available to sit on and the fan in the bathroom is extremely loud.

Property could benefit from a bit more attention to detail, such as sweeping the parking lot and putting hand towels in the room. Also, there was a bright light outside our room that shone in through the slits in the vertical blinds into my companion’s eyes all night while trying to sleep; could install a lower wattage bulb with a softer hue.

Great location 3 minutes from the Departure Bay ferry terminal. Good value for money.

The biggest problem is noise. You can hear upstairs and neighbors closing doors and moving around, and if you're unlucky enough to encounter a lively resident, the noise will be very frequent. But that's what happens in motels.

Based on the price, this is a very good value for money place. It is very close to the ferry and nearby business district, which can be easily reached. Although sanitation, hardware, floor insulation, etc. are a problem, but it's so cheap, you can't ask for more.

One of the vertical blinds were missing, if I had wanted company this would be a big mood killer as people walking past could look in. The hotel cleaner should have spotted this and the hotel with so many rooms should have had spares available as it is a quick fix.

Location from the ferry was the reason I picked this. Close to shops and bises. Very warm on a cold snowy day.

The location was perfect for what we needed. Had a family member in the Hospital in Nanaimo. This location was 2km from the hospital and about the same distance from the Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. The room was spacious and minimalistic. Again it was perfect for what we needed.

I love that it's close to the ferry and to a grocery store (walking distance). There are no extra frills, but it's dependable---clean, comfortable, safe.

The sink was very old, stained with cigarette burns and old caulking. Room above us was noisey with barking dog and foot steps, so I'm not sure the sound-proofing is great for this 2 storey motel. Right beside a school yard. Not close to a green park to walk dogs. I had seen green park on the Google Map, but it turned out to be a wooded school yard that didn't allow dogs (I agree with that rule).

Location. Easy access to the shopping mall just 5 minute drive. Close to Deparure Bay ferry terminal. Right next door to a restaurant, ZOUGAL Mediterranean. Chinese restaurant at the nearby mall. Good heater in the room, because blankets very thin. Good blackout curtains.

Please get rid of the horrible cold-white lights and bring in some warm ones. This will improve the atmosphere in the room a lot.

The owners know how to run a hotel business, a lot of Canadian owners could learn a lot from this couple. I nice place to stay, on waking distance from the ferry. It is a bit of an uphill hike, but just one street. Be sure to go east to the traffic lights after leave the terminal building. Otherwise you can not cross the ferry-feeding-roads. Great hike nearby in a park towards the sea.

Our room was facing the road and quite a busy intersection, so traffic noise was noticeable. Also the partitions between motel units are poorly insulated so noise travels through, which could be a problem.

The a/c units in both rooms stopped and started noisily all night which was very disruptive to sleeping. We were given a newer room on our 2nd stay but which didn’t unfortunately resolve the issue BUT the a/c unit appeared more modern and ran more smoothly + there was also an electric fan which helped mask the restarting a/c unit noise. But we both slept extremely well the following night in another quieter location. Hope they resolve their issue, as they were trying really hard.

Bright, clean, attractive en suite rooms. - We stayed 2 separate nights, one on arriving on Vancouver Island and the night before we left. Business was sold to new owners this summer and are in the process of upgrading and soundproofing the rooms. Staff pleasant and helpful. Convenient site near the ferry for Horseshoe Bay. Excellent - if not cheap - Greek restaurant next door.
