To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

CanadaThe location is very good and close to English Bay...The hotel is old and needs a face lift but the rooms are clean and comfortable with lots of space...The Sea view rooms have a good view of English bay and the sun sets are great also. The beds are comfortable.

CanadaI didn’t like having a pedestal sink in the bathroom, no counter space for getting ready.
This was indeed the best part of this hotel. We could sit on our beds and look out at the oceanfront. A short walk to the beach and very close to so many beautiful restaurants and stores. The kitchenette was very handy, we picked up oven-ready chicken with a a ready-made salad and saved a lot of money on food when didn’t want to spend $$$ on eating out. The fridge was very clean and great for keeping leftovers.

SlovakiaThere is also "English Bay Inn" nearby and I got confused and went to the wrong place at first. The area is a bit dodgy at night but I personally encountered no problems. Plus, they can not issue an invoice to an institution with the full address, only to a person's name, could be a problem for some business trips.
A nice hotel close to the beach and Stanley Park. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, relatively close to city centre / downtown as well. The room itself was large and clean, a nice place to stay.

CanadaThe room smelled like takeout food, silverfish in tub, upon arrival, old carpets, bleached stained sofa chairs, dated furniture & blanket toppers, some walls freshly painted which was nice but then other walls not painted, single pane windows & no way to control heat in room. Wifi didn’t work on one of my devices. We didn’t end up needing the 3rd bed because one person was unable to come on trip but the property couldn’t downsize room & said it was because of Booking.com. If six people who don’t care about aesthetics or wifi were sharing the room, it would be ok because the location is incredible.
Location is amazing , the beds were comfy & it was at least clean.

CanadaIt is a decent facility if you just need somewhere affordable in a great area. You will experience run down, janky rooms but they do the trick.
With this place it is all about the location. The building is old and scuzzy. The rooms are tolerable and mostly clean. You don't stay here if you are looking for fancy. It gets the job done.
