To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaMicrowaves are not included in the rooms. Many of the vending machines on different floors did not work. The gift shop was closed. There aren't any play areas for children.
I included the cost of breakfast in my stay. The quality of the breakfast was excellent and service was also excellent. Front desk staff was also very helpful. Room service was also very prompt. The pool was great for swimming for my twin niece and nephew.

United States of AmericaWi-Fi was really bad. Kept getting kicked off. Didn’t know my rewards number (it’s saved on other devices) so I wouldn’t sign on the Wi-Fi from my laptop. Only my phone.
Staff was friendly, The property was very clean. I liked the daily cleanup service in the room, the gym was nice and I liked that it was stocked with water bottles.

CanadaNot through any fault of theirs, our original room with a "view" had a lovely view of a homeless encampment and drug addicts. They were very happy to honour my request almost immediately, and we were quite satisfied with the new accomodations.
The staff were exceptional. they were courteous, friendly and very helpful. Allowed us to leave our luggage after checkout, so we can go to our appointment without dragging it hither and yon. lol

CanadaWith a huge selection of rooms they provided a room facing a homeless encampment. The encampment itself was not a problem but they had a dog that barked through the night and woke us up. The hotel could have chosen not to place people in the rooms facing the encampment.

FranceYou need to registrer for Mariott membership to access free wifi, and they charge u on invoice strange fees for internet. So incredible in 2024 in such a big resort chain .... I had to do a reclamation front desk.
The bedroom and bathroom are not really modern but its confortable. The Mariott is well located, so closed from Eaton Center - under 2 minutes by foot, and downtown. The gym on rooftoop has well furnitures. The breakfast buffet and staff are nice. The direct parking access to the hotel is really confortable.

IrelandThe hotel was "almost" at everything, but the level of service and customer experience were not worth the price, and left a lot to be desired. As one example - we were celebrating our 20th anniversary, which I let the hotel know, but they did not bother to write it down anywhere, when we were not best pleased that the room was not ready for 4 people even though that is what we ordered (2 towels for example) and re-told them about the anniversary they again did nothing. And when eventually someone knocked on our room door at 9pm with a plate with 4 pieces of chocolate, they had our name misspelled!
The location was excellent, it was very easy to get to the hotel. The room was vey big and the bed was vey comfortable, and I liked the little afternoon complimentary drinks.
