The only few things were: Many of the TV channels didn't work (No signal). A couple, like CTV NewsNet and The Weather Channel are needed by your guests. These need fixing. The hotel is getting older, so the door jambs are loose fitting which lets a lot of light into the room. The beds were facing the hall/door, so it was a bit brighter throughout the night than I would have liked. The bar/restaurant was excellent, but the design makes it very noisy. I met people I hadn't seen in 12 years and we had to yell to hear each other, over some others that seemed to be doing the same, for the same reason, and on and on. There was just this high level din the whole time were were there. Hard on the ears, and any conversation being had. This isn't a rock club, it's a hotel restaurant. The ambiance left a lot to be desired. Again, no refection on the staff nor the food. The parking lot was a bit hard to navigate, but given all the snow Halifax had just received, I guess we can forgive them for this issue. It does need to see a plow badly, though. We were pushed for time on Check-out, so I didn't get a chance to discuss any of these issues with the Staff. Please accept these as information, not complaints.

Our in-bound flight was delayed 2.5 hours and my communication with the hotel was excellent. I haven't stayed here since 1984, but it was as good, or better than I remember. The location is great if you're taking the train, (Or a ship). A bit removed from the, "Hot spots," but that can be a Blessing at times. The room was excellent, and the beds very comfortable. The included breakfast was probably the best breakfast buffet (Quality and variety) I've ever had, and I travel a lot. The rate wasn't cheap, but for the class of hotel, it was from from exorbitant. The staff all around were super (Reception, restaurant, cleaning staff, Concierge). We will be sure to stay here again if the occasion arises! :-)

Bed wasn't the most comfortable. Front desk staff were hard to understand and not very friendly. And even though we added breakfast onto our booking they didn't believe me or want to give us a voucher. The pool seemed dirty and dated.

The elevator system. Need more, and the door key system for the elevator was frustrating.

The room is nice and clean, facing the park in the front. The front desk workers are helpful and friendly. Have good size parking, nice and flat, not on the hill. The best thing about Westin is the location, it is right beside super store, and right in front of Halifax Waterfront, no need to find extra parking when you go for a walk there. I would recommend to my friend, and likely to stay there again if I can visit again. Good choice of restaurant, environment is wonderful. But toilet make funny noise.

The receptionist. Before she used my credit card to do the pre-authorized of room charges. She didn't even tell me how much she was going to pre-authorized from my bank ? What was the total amount coming from ? That was not professional at all !

I have stayed in a number of Westin Hotels in a few different countries. This was my first stay post pandemic. Was it a high end hotel in a great position? Yes. Was it special the way it used to be? No. Loud music was playing in the foyer. Our breakfast voucher wasn’t ready. Our room had one small bottle of convenience store still water that wasn’t chilled or even put in the fridge. There was one robe in a room with a super king bed. One tea bag. I know I could have asked for more and this approach prevents some wasted resources, but a room should be equipped for the number of guests who have paid to stay in it. The decor was standard and the carpets are dreadful. (Not damaged just aesthetically awful).Standard high end these days instead of a real treat.

Westin Hotels are always in great central locations . They are comfortable and smell divine.

No concierge and staff had too little knowledge of what to do, or restaurants to suggest. Not helpful to first time visitors.

The location was great the staff was terrific. Lee, the concierge and Parking coordinator was extreme helpful, in giving us direction and helping us insure a safe trip ahead. He was very cafing and efficient. A r3al asset to the hotel! Generally, all the staff were great. The Hotel location is perfect
