Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe bed wasn't very comfortable-a double in a large room that was low to the ground and squeaked every time you moved.
Location was great, bathrooms clean and modern, the people staying there were friendly and easy to share the kitchen with. I like this type of set up you do get to meet people from all over, conversations are interesting. Owner was easy to reach and allowed us to check out later when I asked if we could store bags after 11am.

JapanMy room was on the front door and the side of the road, it was a bit noisy at nights. Common area should be cleaned everyday especially by this price…everyone did their dishes BUT the basket was always full, I had to tidy it up. Their bath mat was covered with lots of hair during my stay though I don’t normally use shared bath mats in hostel/guesthouse. It should be replaced. It’s a shame that this is well maintained nice place, it’d be way nicer if they clean everyday…
The location was close enough to the central of downtown and the bus stop. The room was tidy and nice, bathrooms/kitchen area were cleanly renovated. They offered me late check out, which I actually didn’t use at the end.

SpainWe were quite cold. The duvet was not very thick and there should be extra blankets.
Location was good. Staff were accommodating about length of stay. Room was clean and bright. It was nice to have a mini fridge in the room. I appreciated flexibility with check-in since we checked in after 6pm.

United KingdomTravelling west around half a mile you will find the tented village area of Halifax. Drunk and drugged homeless people strewen around the streets each morning. Not possible to change this but it's a fact.
Location is good, right on the edge of a student accomodation district and within walking distance of the most popular bars and nightclubs, even with that it's a relatively quiet neighbourhood. Whilst the room is compact it has everything that you'll need for your stay. The shower is reasonable and the bed very comfortable. There is no lift as this is a converted house with ten rooms available.

CanadaLittle details that host will not pay attention to such as badly stained cloth chair in the room, stained placemats in the kitchen, easy fixable but if not, can leave a bad impression. It's an old house and hallways still smell "old", "damp".
Host efforts to improve the home and to make your stay comfortable were evident, great location, close to tourist attractions, shopping, groceries, restaurants. Comfy bed. We stay in a room with a private bathroom but dont bother, it has a weird setting, it's a shower stall that includes also a toilet and a small, impractical sink while they have beautiful, modern, spacious communal bathrooms that will very well satisfy every taste. Overall a comfortable stay!

CanadaDoesn't have air conditioning in the rooms. It was alright for me since it was September. Room has a fan. They mention in the booking page so no hidden surprises. But I think this could be tough in Summer.
Location is the best part of this accommodation. Waterfront, Citadel, Downtown, shopping malls, restaurants everything are in walking distance. Room: spacious for one person. Clean and well organized. Washroom (shared) - always clean, plenty of room for shower. Kitchen: well equipped. Clean. They have code for the front door. I felt safe.

CanadaWould have liked to have a matt to stand on when getting out of shower. We only received one washcloth and there was no shampoo. I am sure if i had asked this would have been remedied. We just bought what we needed. Fan in bathroom needs cleaned and and one more pillow would have been nice.
Owner(s) were quick to respond when I needed help or had a question. Close to everything. Glad our room had a window and fan. Liked the tokens for laundry and coffee pods. Loved the little refrigerator in the room. Enjoyed the Roku TV and wifi.

United States of AmericaThe coffee system was not ideal. Water probably wasn’t filtered, and McDonald’s pods were strange.
Unique and self-contained, like a little studio. I had everything I needed to focus on working remotely for a few hours, have dinner out of the fridge, and shower and sleep — all without setting foot outside my room. For an anxious person, that’s a travel dream come true.

ItalyThe bed was a bit lumpy but nothing too bad.
The room was clean, small but had all we need, including a private bathroom. The location is very central and you can walk to all the main attractions but the street itself is quite. Self check-in and check-out went super smoothly and the manager is friendly and attentive. There are also a shared kitchen and a laundry room (you will need your soap but 4 complimentary token are provided).
