Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The facilities are shabbily gentille but comfortable. The price is high for what one gets — one pays for the view.
This iconic hotel has a spectacular location and history. The staff is friendly and helpful. I enjoyed sitting in the large lobby with massive windows facing the lake and mountains chatting with other guests.

Rooms are small and walls are thin - you can listen to everything your neighbors say. There's only one elevator that is quite complicated to use, so we ended up taking the stairs a lot. I am young and healthy but it might be a pain for those who aren't as fit.
The views are stunning and the hotel is full of history. I recommend staying there for the experience. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is stunning. Our room had access to an outdoor (shared) balcony and we were able to watch a meteor shower from it! The room was basic and the double bed felt very small, but we would absolutely stay here again. Spent a good chunk of time in the lobby soaking up the view and playing games.

It is old and could use some updating. But that also was the charm. The view breathtaking!!!

Hotel was in need of some exterior renovations. Outside seating would be nice in the back patio and additional lobby seating to enjoy the view.
Hotel was charming, the staff were exceptional. The view and surroundings are stunning, it was a very relaxing experience surrounded by the beauty of nature. We had a wonderful dinner in the dining room with too notch service. Looking forward to coming back.

The chairs in the lobby overlooking the lake are very uncomfortable and too low to properly sit on. Other than that everything was great.

Room was small which is no surprise - just cramped. The rooms were not quiet as you can hear talking very clearly on both sides. I would not stay again.
It's a nice old lodge with a history. I'm glad we stayed there. The location in Waterton National Park was terrific and the views from the grounds and restaurants were unmatched.

Food choices in the Diner and for Dinner were not the best. I had the Burger in the diner, over cooked and dry.
Historic and Hotel Staff were professional and courteous. The Tea was excellent and the historical briefing was spot on.

The bathroom needs a shelf for toiletries. It would be nice to have a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room.
The staff was wonderful, the setting and view lovely and relaxing. The view was amazing. All was comfortable; loved the modern bathroom. The plugs were ample, especially be the bed, in the lamp. The food was excellent! It was great to be able to eat in the lounge.

The hotel is of course old but beautiful, you feel you are stepping back in time, not the comfort we know today but that is what makes the hotel special. Would go again in a heart beat. Breakfast was only coffee, banana bread and a few fruit pieces

Breakfast was very limited. Supplied bagels, English muffins, toasting bread with no toaster avaliable. Told toaster had broken but there was no backup plan. Expensive for what you got.
