Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaWe have stayed here several times in the past but never again. New owner. We didn't get the room we reserved, we were moved to a new room which had the same issue and was warm and stuffy. Air conditioning was not working, just fans placed in the rooms. Went to take a shower and realized we had no towels. Called the front desk and they said they would call housekeeping. 20-25 minutes later, nothing. We call back down and are told housekeeping is off for the night. THEY NEVER CALLED US TO TELL US! We demanded that someone bring us towels and 15-20 minutes later security shows up with one big and one little towel. He told me that he went to 10 different rooms and that was all he could find. Seriously??? But okay, not his fault, deep breath.... So I run the water to get it hot... which it never did get hot... and noticed the water was very yellow!! Disgusting! We packed our bags, got a refund and moved to another hotel nearby.

CanadaThe elevator was broken. Broken windows in the stairwell. The A/C was either broken or non-existent, I couldn't get an answer. No guest laundry even though the website said there was. The overall feel of the place was not comforting. Things felt "off". I ended up finding different accomodations. At least, they were good at refunding me the nights I didn't stay.

CanadaGhetto af.. people are drinking heavily in the hallways on week nights. The Fitness Room was trashed, without weights and working equipment. I had security escort the people out of the room next to me. And I seen them vaccum the floor, but no joke it was disgusting within an hour.

CanadaYou arrive and check the washroom. The dirty rag was still there - in the sink - including the bottle of disinfectant. Obviously, it was left there by the cleaner. And then the bath towel. If it is not clean and new, just leave nothing. I ended up asking for new bath towels at the reception. And the only available towels are the pool towels. The reception, during my check-in, obviously hailing from India, is a lady. And she cannot even have a courtesy to recognize my presence in front of her. "Give me a second, sir, I'll be right with you", would have been the right words to say as a courtesy. And no politeness either. She would talk with another co-worker and another customer while I was just there waiting for my turn. Just because I am dark skinned and not white, I am still a paying customer. My booking was for two persons. In my booking, there were amenities included. Including access to somewhat a balcony. But I ended up in an old and dingy room with a worn out accent chair. Who would want to sit in a leather chair with its cover slowly consumed by history? It can be likened to an old and aging rat whose hair has started to fall off so you can see now patches of skin. If you cannot provide a new chair, fine. But take that chair away because even thrift stores won't even sell it! And by the way, its Marlborough Hotel in Winnipeg. At the time I was there, it was being used as a film location. Some areas are not accessible. Even elevators at some point. You need to use the stairs. If you have a knee problem, goodluck! Your insurance may not cover it. Again, its Marlborough Hotel. Just because you got your reservation from booking.com and it may sound cheap at $111 plus, you still value your money. And if booking.com cannot assure a nice and comfy stay, just say it. Do not offer what you cannot deliver so that expectations won't be high. If you want to stay in business, take it seriously. No repeats, no business.
