Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

It was a real treat to stay in a hotel which was not obviously part of a chain and which did not have a corporate identity. All staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The single room was entirely adequate, and it was a bonus to have the option of a bath as well as shower. A safe in the room is always helpful as well. I still can't believe how a hotel just a couple of minutes from the railway station and main streets could be located in such a quiet, tree-lined side street, with its own (smallish) garden.

United KingdomOne of the pillows might have been firmer, but it was good to get two each rather than just one. Having hot drinks available in the afternoon was welcome, but 4 francs for hot water and a tea bag for residents is a bit steep.
Comfortable corner room, with a useful safe and a small fridge, plus wine glasses provided. Traditional but attractive decor. The street was nice and quiet at night. Handy location for those arriving by train, without being too close to the station. The receptionist was helpful in finding us a plug adapter when we discovered that all the sockets were the Swiss 3 pin and none took the regular European type.

TaiwanPower outlets were behind the night stand, had to move it to charge my phone by my bed. And then the socket couldn’t fit my power adapter with the night lamp power cord at the same time, so I had to forfeit a light source. The pillows were too flat for me, good thing I had four to pile up. (Traveling solo) Bit pricey for me but considering prices in the Swiss I’d say it’s a good bargain.
Staff were great and welcoming, everyone I met spoke English. They had a tea service with cake but I was out so didn’t go. Room was very spacious, with big windows to let in lots of light. Loved the balcony. Bathroom also very spacious complete with a tub, lots of space over the sink for your own stuff. TV was fixed in a corner but could turn to face armchair or bed. Bed and duvet both very comfy. Continental breakfast with eggs and sausage, 2 selection of cheese, 3 kinds of ham, and 5-6 different bread. Coffee with milk was great, cappuccino not so much. Bread selection were so good I ate too much.

SwitzerlandThough the bed was comfy, the sheet was very old and scratchy. The room had a slight eggy smell to it.
Excellent location, only a 5 minute walk from Lausanne train station. The room was clean & reasonably sized. I checked in past midnight which wasn’t an issue.

PolandBathroom was missing some space around the sink for any kind of private items (like makeup or glasses) and the hairdryer was rather old and overheating quickly.
Hotel is nicely located in the centre of Lausanne, just few minutes of a (steep) walk from the train station. Room was rather small but enough for traveling alone. Staff was friendly.

AustraliaSwitzerland is expensive so this may seem so too - expect bigger, more modern places will be even moreso so save your money and book here for a great experience.
A little gem. Old world style - this is not modern, but very cozy. Close to the main train station (yes, up steps but worth it if you can manage) and metro line, old town. Still quiet despite location. Easy to walk down to Ouchy but metro option also available. Comfortable room with sparkling and still water provided♥️, good shower, lovely simple breakfast (extra $, good value). All staff were very friendly and helpful. Great to be able to leave bags - and be given the local travel pass at the same time.

Czech RepublicI am not a big fan of rooms with a limited amount of the daily light. Also, the hair dryer is a bit too old, but still functional though. And be careful, do not get tricked that it takes only 4 minutes from the main station. There is some exercising needed to get there (climbing a pretty steep hill).
I appreciate the kind and warm stuff of the hotel. Always smiling and being supportive. Also the location of the hotel is great, very close to the main train station while still providing a quiet place to stay. I liked the bathtub as well. So relaxing after a long day. And it is great that the room had a regular table for working, which I used a lot during my business trip.

Very comfortable and quiet rooms: comfortable bed, amazing pillows, room can be darkened at will, no slamming door noise in the morning due to the standard key based locking Note: I have got a room at the top floor, with no neighbors, so I cannot comment on the noise between rooms Located in the center near the station but in a quiet street

United KingdomThe uphill climbs ! these can be hard work, our advice is use the metro and go to a stop further then walk down.
The proximity of the hotel to the rail station meant the walk up hill was manageable pushing our suitcase as we went. Lausanne is hilly, with some steep climbs, negotiating a large suitcase much further would not be ideal. The hotel is close to the Metro network also which was extremely useful for getting around, and free for visitors using the hotels in the town. Hotel Elite was a little gem for our three night stay, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel was very clean and the continental breakfast was very good. For a short break this hotel is ideal.
