Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Belgiumthey don't give towels, you have to pay for them and they ask to provide a guarantee as in your identity card. i find this quite strange and way too much to do for.....a towel. also, the place is quite far from the center
it's clean and funny place, diverse and interactive

United KingdomI liked the building - amazing modernist architecture by Ernst Gisel, both: brutalist interiors and exteriors. The room was OK, I had the top of the bunk bed, easy to access, enough space. The room was 6 beds, 5 of which were occupied. The aircon was a bit loud and you could hear what was happening in the front 'bathroom' - room with sinks. Nice breakfast, good coffee. Overall good for a short stay, quiet and pleasant. Nice staff.

United States of AmericaRequested an extra pillow and blanket and was refused. No idea why. They don't provide a towel so how do you shower? They wanted to charge me $20+ dollars because apparently when I tried to make my bed in the dark getting yelled at by other people in the room for turning on the light I didn't make the bed exactly how they wanted it made. If that is the case then they should be making the beds? So that was bizarre. I've never seen that before. Even with a half empty hostel, they still put other people in the rooms even when it's not necessary. Very difficult to get any sleep.
Very nice staff. The airline delayed my bag so I had no luggage for 3 days and they were helpful and kind. Included breakfast and coffee was good as well as the 24 hour study area. Hot water in showers and multiple restrooms. Clean linen and staff cleans well. Well staffed. I'm

AustraliaThey charge more for female only dorms. That's not right. Also the location is very much out of the city itself. You either need to catch a 10 min train or tram. The beds - very classic hostel
The staff here were the best! Some great recommendations and made a solo traveller much more comfortable. The dinner was great value for money. A nice big plate of food. Breakfast was also good 👍🏽 I imagine it would be a great spot in the summer months.

AustriaThe staff was amazing, very friendly, very helpful! Nice folks. The hostel is a little far out, 20-30min to the centre but easy to get to, public transport run every few minutes. There are some parks/greenery around. Vegan options for breakfast available 😀

IndiaThe toilets were stinking quite a lot. Though the cleaning staff tries to maintain it well, but still one side was really stinky, so I would rather use the one on the other side of the floor. The second issue though is the breakfast. It's advertised as included, but if you don't eat meat, you literally have nothing to eat as breakfast, unless you are ready to munch some bread with butter, maybe. That too, the breakfast is for a very short window and there's no one to clarify any doubts, if you got one. Thirdly, it's a bit further away from the centre, so not ideal if you're planning to roam around the centre otherwise you'll have to take a tram, though tram connectivity is really good. Fourth, the beds need lots of work. If you have both the beds occupied in the bunk beds, you'll have a tough time sleeping as the bed keeps screaming all the time.
As always, youth hostel is a great place to meet great people from around the world and that was my favourite. Regarding the accommodation, i was in a four bed room with 2 bunk beds. As requested, I got a lower bed due to my backache issues. I stayed there two nights, so I don't have much to say. It just went well without any issues, so I'd say, all was great.

RomaniaBathrooms could be cleaner and smelling better.
The Hostel is great for a city as Zurich. 1. Located in a good neighborhood - not really central, but about 1h walking from the train station, or, alternatively, 10 minutes by train. 2. Very good price considering that delicious breakfast is included. 3. Comfortable and very large, full of different options to spend the time around.

ChinaThe room is a little bit smaller than I expected.
The hostel is a little bit away from the city centre, but it is close to the bus/Tram station, so it's easy to get in and out. The receptionists were passionfully and friendly. The common area is large and there is quite a bit of entertainments. Good choice for breakfast.

ItalyRooms were nice but kind of small and stuffy and not much space for four people. No curtains on bed for privacy. Quite far from central and the main station. It was about 50 mins walk. A little daunting at night as a solo female traveler. But it is well connected by public transport. If you arrive to Zürich by train I advice to stop at Wollishofen station which is just 10 mins away.
Helpful and nice staff. I arrived way before check in time and they let me use the showers and settle in anyway. They also answered all my questions. Very clean and spacious bathrooms and shower rooms. Handy lockers and a sink in the room. Good internet connection. Good breakfast!

BrazilThe hostel is located in a quiet neighborhood and it is a little bit far from most sightsseeing, so you really need some sort of public transportation to go around the city. They had sinks with no soap in the bedroom. I just don't get ir why having sinks with no toilets or soap. And what I think was a bit unfair is that they have lockers in the bedroom, bur you have to pay 2 frncs to use it.
The room was big enough and the breafast was excelent! The lobby has many leisure otprions for the guests.

GermanyThe spacing between beds is a bit tight.
There's no cooking area, but they serve food 24 hours a day and the prices aren't bad for Switzerland. The room is clean and cozy. The shower is separate from the toilet, so it's clean. The lobby is very spacious and comfortable.
