The rooms doesnt have any curtains to add some privacy. But to be fair it wasnt an issue, we hanged our clothes and put them over the windows to stop some of the light coming in. Having no curtains is also less irritating for people with allergies. So cant and wont complain.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hostel. It was a very warm and comfortable stay. We had a shared shower and toilet and honestly, they were the cleanest ones I have ever had in a hostel so far. Staff was also friendly and offered us a visitor card that lets you use the local public transport. That was really helpful since the hostel is located on top of a very steep hill. Bus stop was also right in front of our stay. Overall great stay.

Expensive to pay for laundry - 20CHF for a large load. No wifi in the rooms, wifi only accessible in the downstairs living room.

Amazing location nestled along the mountains - fantastic views but a very steep walk from the main town, the local bus comes by once every hour. Free local bus travel using the guest pass. Great faculties, clean bathroom and shower, breakfast included. It was pretty quiet during our stay in April. Good heating. Friendly staff. Felt right at home.

We didn't realize there wouldn't be towels or soap/shampoo, only after the reception was gone for the first night. I would have appreciated if this were communicated beforehand. Also, we didn't see any bugs, but realized halfway into our first night that there were lots of reviews of bedbugs on the floor under us sometime last year for a period of a few months, and were afraid that they might still have been there. The bottom bunk bed being on the floor was a bit scary after realizing this. That said, the hotel may have done a very good job here, as we haven't seen any reviews since then, and it seems the hotel was avoiding giving rooms to the rooms that were said to be affected in the reviews. So the fear (possibly unjustified) of bedbugs was a negative experience, but as we didn't encounter this or hear about other folks encountering it, maybe it's a positive thing overall that the hotel handled this.

Good price for the area, and it had its own bus stop from Grindelwald. Free breakfast was very nice, especially in the very expensive city of Grindelwald. Beautiful views from its kitchen while eating breakfast.

Location is absolutely fine, we got the bus up to the hostel which only took about 6 mins, however the buses only go every half an hour or so. Walking down into the town (10-15 mins) is a bit steep but absolutely doable. The buses do stop at 6.45pm and don't restart until 8am on a weekend but if you know this you can plan in advance! Taxi cost is a bit eye watering, we paid 25CHF to get down to the town early morning 7am for a train because the buses weren't running yet but good to be warned!

The hostel is very clean and well set up, the rooms were spacious and the bathroom/kitchen very clean. The staff in particular (Andrea- I hope I have the name correct) was so warm, friendly and incredibly helpful. An absolute stand out person and provided us with the absolute best customer service we have ever had, she also showed us around and made sure we had everything and were comfortable, honestly an angel. We would definitely stay here again when we come back to Switzerland!

The concept of this accomodation is "nature-friendly", which I got to know what it means while I'm staying. You have to put the cover of the bed and the pillow by yourself and on the checkout day you should take it out and hand it over. You don't see any view from the room, it depends on which room you paid for though. The window is very small anyway. You shouldn't expect the view from the view. You should rent the towels (3 CHF for a towel) and get your own toiletry products cuz there is nothing.

The staff was very friendly and nice, which was the best part of my stay here. You get the free bus-ticket for your stay. Without bus it would be really hard to get here with all the backpacks and carriers cuz the way is pretty steep and dangerous during the winter.

You can hear your neighbors quiet well when you‘re in your room so it‘s quiet noisy from 7ish am on when the kids go to ski school. Wished to have individual plugs for the beds but that‘s something small.

Love the chalet style house and traditional yet modern interior. Breakfast was good, everything was clean and staff super friendly.

the vine was a bit overpriced and for the raclette, there was only pepper and salt, which is not very Swiss to have only so little spices in this dish to add on. i think the price was a bit too high, compared to other hostels. breakfast was ok, müesli, bread butter, and cheese. not many options.

The bottom bunk is literally almost on the floor. Bus 122 from Grindelwald has specific times and at certain times doesn’t pass by the front of the hostel so check the timetable at the bus stop before getting on. If you don’t drive, the bus timing can limit your activities as last bus is 6-ish unless you chose to attempt the very steep climb up the hill. Some rooms are in the basement.

There is no staff around outside of the check-in hours so try to ensure you arrive within the times. Very clean throughout with even baby changing facilities in the bathroom. The view from the back garden is stunning. Quiet accommodation to enjoy the beauty of the mountains.
