Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Outlets in our room sparked and produced a burning smell when things were plugged into them
Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and easy check in. Stored our bags while we went out in the city. Great location.

Small bathroom. Only slight negative we can think of!
Breakfast was brilliant -great selection to choose from. Generous amounts. Perfect for adults and children. Central location was absolutely perfect for exploring Geneva and getting public transport eg to the airport.

It had a bit of a funny entrance. It was basic but fine.

Rooms obsolete (still everything fully functional).
Staff - helpful, friendly, informed. Location - very close to Mont Blanc Bridge. Room had a small kitchen. Room service breakfast - coffee, tea, fruits, yoghurts, butter, cheese, croissants (no vegetables, nor eggs and meat). Not least - very good value for money spent (included breakfast and cards for public transport).

The room could have been bigger, but we were there to explore, not stay in the room, so it was more down to preference if anything.
The breakfast was excellent with a good selection of pastries and drinks each morning. The location was brilliant and was only a few minutes walk away from lake Geneva, and a five minute walk to Geneva train station. There was also a bus station very close to the hotel too. The hotel also provided a tourist travel card which got us to the hotel for free using public transport and lasted as long as our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made the stay very easy.

I would have preferred breakfast in a dining room rather than having to have it in my room. The room was rather stark and tired, and would benefit from a refresh.
Very well situated hotel on a quiet street right in the centre. Reception staff were very friendly. Breakfast was simple but very tasty - best croissant I've had in a long time.

On our first night at around 5:30am someone rang the doorbell nonstop for about half an hour, clearly wanting to get in. It was annoying, but also a little frightening because we weren't aware what was going on. Someone must have gone to speak with them because they ended up inside and then they rang the door bell at the front desk nonstop. This whole ordeal went on for about an hour. We couldn't sleep in the meantime. Not sure what it was all about.
The room was spacious enough and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We even got tips on what to see and where to go which was very useful.

Nothing - suited our needs
We stayed 1 night at Hotel Tor and it was suitable for our needs. Beds were comfortable, wifi was fast, and it's a 5 minute walk from the train station. The studio room had a small kitchenette which had enough utensils for a simple meal. Breakfast was a continental breakfast and served in your room.

The beds were very uncomfortable I felt the springs on my back and the pillow were very flat and worn out.
This is like a family run hotel, the reception is on the 3rd floor which I got a bit lost as it was not sign posted only in the lift. The rooms are quite small and the bathroom is also extremly small! The location was great, about 10 minutes walk from Geneva train station and to the nearby attractions. A continental breakfast was brought into the room in the morning, but not much space for you to sit down to eat it.
