Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandSmall details (but they make the big differences, isn't it?) 1) I got an email from the hotel saying "Start your day with a healthy breakfast Welcome Inn breakfast buffet available for CHF 10.00 (Swiss francs) per person." When I asked at the reception, they told me that they forgot to change that in the messaging system and this year the breakfast is CHF 15.00. A 5 francs difference it is not actually that important (50% increase since last year though). It is only a matter of principal: You make a written offer, HONOR IT! And, if it was a mistake, charge the amount you promised in written and then change you messaging system. Why do you ask me, the client, to pay the difference of your mistake and you don't pay it? Anyway, not that important, but it was a bad start. 2) The room decoration is very sobre. Just a couple of nice frames with happy pastel colors on the walls would chear up the whole mood! 3) My room had black-out curtains only. So, you can darken the room almost completely and that's it. There were not any of the usual, thin and translucent curtains that help you feel in privacy during the day and still have daylight coming in. If you want to spent some time in your room during the day, you feel akward having no curtains and someone from the opposite building can see you. It reminded me of some places in the former communist countries that curtains were probably prohibited by the law! 4) I had my 15 francs breakfast on a Sunday morning. The receptionist (very friendly and helpful anyway) seemed to be also in charge for the breakfast. She was leaving her post at the reception every few minutes and she was fastly taking care to replenish the trays with food, tide up the used plates and coffee cups, etc. I guess, Mr. or Mrs hotel's manager, that you probaly try to make more money by cutting down on wages but this is not a nice way to do that. It is a pity for such an nice hotel in all other matters...
If you have to stay in the area, the location of the hotel is excelent. There many restaurants, take aways, super markets, pharmacies, bank, etc in walking distance around the hotel. Walking distance to the train station too, with direct train service to Zurich's main station (15' ride only). Also, there is a bus (731) from the airport to the "Kloten, Stadthaus" bus stop, just 200 meters from the hotel. Anyway, the ride from the airport is not a long one so it will not cost much to get a taxi. - The hotel's lobby is average and the breakfast area is nice. - The buffet breakfast is good (I would call it "condinental buffet) and it's price is fair (for Swiss standards). - The room I got was spacious, nice furniture, comfy beds, and all sparkling clean (well done housekeeping!) - Free tea and coffee making facilities and a useful little fridge. - The windows are sound proof; no street or airport noise. - Another extra is the many (and free) parking places of the hotel for its' guests. - Both evening and morning receptionists were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

AustraliaBreakfast was quite basic and started being cleared before the end of breakfast time, however it was cheap and convenient and had enough to keep you going for the day.
Very decent sized room for suitcase repacking before a flight and conveniently located for public transport, airport, super markets and bakeries. Having a separate shower and toilet was great, and would be perfect for two people in the room. Complimentary water in the room as well as tea and coffee machine in the lobby was great. Easy check in and check out.

SwitzerlandThere's nothing much to the hotel beyond a room for the night, which is fine. The rooms could have been cleaned a bit better, as there was still some dust on the headboard.
Very easy check in process. We only stayed for one night as we had to get to ZRH airport very early the next day. It did the job. The complementary hot drinks were nice, as it was winter when we stayed at the hotel.

United StatesNothing really = we chose it because it was inexpensive and not too far from either the airport or Zurich - a short train ride directly to the center of the city
The hotel was quite nice, the room was clean - large enough - strange dresser type things for clothes - not too bad to travel to Zurich, not great but not bad - certainly worth the price

United StatesI didn’t like not having air conditioning In the room. I didn’t sleep well because the room was too warm. The hotel should at least put in ceiling fans & in addition put in quiet table fans. If you opened the window it was too noisy. I won’t stay there again or anywhere in Zurich that does not have air conditioning.
Nice room with a pleasant view. Bed was exceptionally comfortable because I like a soft bed.
