Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomRoads from bus station all the way to entrance are dirt roads and feel pretty unsafe. Feels a bit like you’re in an industrial park all the way there (though once on the property it is lovely). Not really that close to anything. Main supermarket is the other side of a huge dual carriageway. This is also NOT an ‘eco’ accommodation: there are no recycling facilities at all, POLYSTYRENE cups in the kitchen and feather duvets. Feels like they’ve called themselves ‘eco’ just to get tourists in.
Lovely gardens and great cabin with privacy and outdoor furniture. Comfy beds. Fairly decent breakfast considering the price you pay. Sweet dogs!

United KingdomYou need a car to stay here. We came by bus and we had to do a lot of walking. This was fine except at night when we had to walk through some sketchy areas (2 women alone) in the dark. You can no longer borrow bikes.
A lovely garden with privacy and great cabins that had everything you needed. There was a heater, extra blankets and WiFi as well as cooker, fridge, kettle toaster etc.

United KingdomDepending on who you are, this might be a small or big issue. There are some dogs on the property who are sweet and friendly, but not at all trained - this causes problems because: A) they might keep you up at night barking. B) they might jump up at you (I got my stomach inadvertently scratched by one of them), which you might not like. C) one day they followed us out of the hostel and got into some fights with other dogs in the neighbourhood. They would bark aggressively at each other, and then run towards us to protect them, and then get excited and start nipping at each other while aggressively growling. We were essentially trapped between two groups of dogs at each end of the road and the hostel's dogs. They were over excited and possibly aggressive and so this was a pretty unpleasant experience. The owner says they've tried training the dogs, but this training has obviously not been consistent.
The garden is beautiful, the kitchen was well equipped, and it was quite close to both the beach, the city centre and a shopping centre (and the bus station). The hot water was consistent.

GermanyThere are some cute dogs at the place. The only problem is, that they won’t leave you alone. They even followed us for a 10 km run at the beach and tried to enter the supermarket with us so one of us had to wait outside. Can be a little bit annoying. It changed when we got a car and left the place with it. The street to the hotel is a little bit off the tracks. Wouldn’t recommend to walk there in the dark.
Nice place and friendly staff. The apartment is very beautiful. Close to the beach and the city.

ChileRoom needed more cleaning, as the surroundings hosts lots of insects and spiders that crawled into the room.
Breakfast was delicious, well located at 15 minutes from bus station and 10 minutes from the beach. The isolated location was a relaxing experience.

ChileI was quite disappointed with my stay at el Arbol Ecolodge because the hotel managers were completely absent. We had to wait almost an hour to be received at our arrival because there was no one there. At the time of the departure, likewise we had to wait one hour to return the keys and to obtain the change of our payment which we had carried out two days before. I don't find it normal that the hotel managers desert and that there is nobody there in case of need. Fortunately the housekeeper was there, she was very pleasant and was able to help us but I don't think that's her job. I would also like to point out that the wifi listed as available in the common areas does not work at all.
However, the place remains relatively quiet, close to the beach, the beds are comfortable and the cabins are well equipped.
