Lovely hotel that's filled with history and old world charm. The staff go out of their way to make the stay a most pleasant one. Highly recommended!

Service.

The most attractive part of this Hotel is the Building itself. Location is perfect for accessing Bund and Nanjing road, but traffic is also crowded. Love the Lobby especially those Art-Deco decorations. Breakfast is ok compare with the local general level. Room is clean and comfortable. Staffs are showing their hospitality but the service is bit reluctance. On the whole, it's a great Hotel but low cost performance.

The Fairmont guided tour took place everyday at 3pm in English and I was not able to attend since I was out for work everyday during that time. I really wanted to attend since I wanted to know more about the history of the hotel but even after requesting them to reschedule it wasn’t possible.

The location was excellent. Also most of the staff at the property was fluent in english unlike most hotels in shanghai and that helped me a-lot to ask them for relevant information. Excellent turndown service!

We enjoyed the Jazz bar but there was no hotel bar open all day to sit in when you arrive for example.

Location was unbeatable. Breakfast was absolutely amazing. The histroy of the hotel was fascinating and the architecture and quality of the decor was incredible.

There's a pretty cool jazz bar within the hotel but this is only open from 6pm and requires a booking on a busy night.

Cleaner did not do a good job in tidying up the room. A bin was not cleared of rubbish and thus bin was just left next to the desk. The tv cabinet doors were left open widely even though we did not open the cabinet and watched tv. The bath robes were loosely huge up without tying the belts. Old ear buds box was just by one of the sinks.

Alex in the Dragon restaurant was most helpful with my last minute restaurant table booking. He deserves a recommendation. The food from the restaurant was great. We also like the decor in the room and in the lobbys.

The room was advertised as a landmark view, which I mistakenly understood as the view of the Bund. Instead it is the view of the swatch store/ side street. The bathrobe had coffee stains on it from previous guest. When placed on the floor for housekeeping to change it, it was hung back up in the bathroom with swapping it for a new and clean bathrobe. Housekeeping also forgot to clean the room on one of the days.

We were allowed an early check in, despite it being a very busy period for the hotel. This was greatly appreciated. Restaurant suggestions from the staff were good. Room was comfortable and bathroom was nice. The breakfast was excellent.

The architecture and design of the building and rooms are perfection; the hotel manages to be both authentic art deco, modern, and spotless. The concierge and desk staff were very helpful in arranging transportation and restaurant reservations. Would highly recommend if you like a unique and beautiful hotel

No complaints at all. Everything was great

Fantastic all around, from the service, to the location, and the hotel itself. Tasty and warm food for the included breakfast, while the location was so close to the Bund, I could walk out of the hotel and immediately see the view on the left. The room was clean and extremely comfortable, while the staff went above and beyond to ensure I was able to get from place to place on time, and made reservations on my behalf. Would highlight recommend a stay here.

The walls were a bit thin but that is to be expected in a historic hotel like this one.

Loved the conscierge service. They were extremely helpful when my credit card was swallowed by an atm. Note to future travellers: do not expect to be able to withdraw money on weekends when Banks are closed. The gym was great too.

It's a bummer u hav great front desk staff but judgy reservation staff who answer calls impolitely. I was making a call to inquire if the Terrace restaurant is open or not so we can see the view while dining. The girl mentioned that the Terrace is not open but the Chinese restaurant is. And if we want to see the ocean view so much, we should hav booked the ocean view room. That really hurts my feelings a bit even before I hav checked into the hotel. A bone to pick on the cleanness of the room. the chandelier above the bed seems to be unclean for quite a while. it's visible that there r some dust bunnies. I was a little afraid that the dust will fall into our mouth while sleeping.

Great front desk service. upgraded our room free of charge and very politely escorted us to where the elevator is. The room is really big and very pretty. I really like the bathtub and the four-poster bed. Classic and comfy. Booking is very convenient.

The pool is kinda hard to find and surprisingly, tiny. As it is tiny, they limit the access to 8 people at a time. However, if you get there at the right time, you may be lucky to have the pool to yourself. I got lucky! :P

I stayed at this prestigious hotel on my special day and it exceeded my expectations! I booked an executive king room with lounge access. There were a group of people checking in the lobby when I got there but because I booked the executive room, they took me to the executive lounge for check-in which was very pleasant. The staff and their service were excellent. I want to commend Stevie, the hotel manager, as he was very helpful and made my birthday stay really worthwhile. I super love my room. It has a huge bathroom, a tiny walk in closet, and a huge bed! I made the right choice and indeed, found some peace, hassle free stay. <3
