Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. RomaniaThis stay was absolutely lovely. It has a beautiful courtyard with a fishpond and running water that gently rocks you to sleep at night. The room was very clean and tidy, comfortable and had all the required amenities . The best part was the owners. It is a family business and the care and attention given by them shows how much they care for it and their customers. We were welcomed with tea upon arrival, tasted many different types, chatted about tea and Chinese culture. They prepared breakfast to-go for us when we went early morning on a hike (without us asking) and helped us book bus tickets, drivers to and from airport etc. They also helped us order things online and helped with any request or question. It was a great and welcoming experience and I suggest anyone to try it, they are just lovely. Be sure to not pass on the tea when offered by the passionate owner, it’s quite an experience.

SingaporeThis trip was extremely satisfying. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and hygienic, with a beautiful environment. Its location was superbly advantageous, situated right inside the ancient city, surrounded by a picturesque stream that provided stunning views from the windows. The breakfast was abundant and diverse, offering delicious Chinese and Western dishes. I also had the opportunity to taste their Naxi Baba, which was incredibly delicious. Having the inn arrange my itinerary was extremely convenient and relaxing, as the route was thoughtfully planned and passed by scenic spots that were not to be missed. Watching the performance of Lijiang Qianguqing was truly breathtaking. Staying at the hotel in the ancient city was an exceptional travel experience in Lijiang. It was a flawless trip, and the innkeepers were sincerely kind, warm, and attentive, making my brief journey filled with beautiful scenery and goodwill. I'm looking forward to returning again.

The room is clean and huge. Though this is located in the Old Town, the amenities and facilities inside are modern and luxurious. The owner who runs this place ensure that the guests are well taken care of. Not to mention there are always fresh fruits, tea and even plum wine available.

Singaporeit was such a delightful stay. quiet, peaceful and very welcoming. rooms were kept clean and charming. family rooms were large and comfortable. loved the hot tub. Xiao Xu was an excellent and most helpful host. she assisted us in every single and little thing, from booking mini day tour, to food recommendations, collecting our Taobao packages, helping us with our laundry washes, to packing us breakfasts, and serving us welcome tea and rose cakes. best of all, the property belongs to them, and they are an non-smoking accommodation. this was indeed the most comfortable stay of our time in Lijiang. and we are truly thankful for the immaculate service from Xiao Xu. hope to stay there again!

ThailandThere's no staff at night. The driver came late almost one hour to pick us up at the train station.
The location is a bit far from the center of the Old Town. The room is spacious. The breakfast was served in the Chinese traditional style, simple but very good quality and tasty.

AustraliaWe had to leave. If i had my time again, we would extend our stay and completely redo our itinerary to be here longer.
Everything. Our entire family loved this amazing stay. The rooms, the location, the history, the amazing staff, the genuinely caring and beautiful Amy, and of course the tea! Literally every detail was perfect. As a family, we have stayed in probably 50 hotels around the world and I personally have stayed in many more. This was our favourite by a long margin. We will be back, and soon!

Hong KongThe warm hospitality of Amy and Ann and their staff. Exceptional English and great conversation. They were eager to give tips and recommendations for the old city, made sure breakfast choices varied with local foods, and had good dinner recommendations. The hotel was close to South gate, so it was in a central location and slightly off the main roads. Stays over 3 nights had airport pick up. The hotel was well decorated with modern amenities (bathroom was superb!) - No tv in the room but good wifi.

The owners are extremely friendly, always ready to offer Chinese tea, fruits and snacks and very good conversations with guests. The room is very well kept and clean. Toilet, bathroom and washing area are modern and clean. Very good location (about 10mins walk to main South Gate of the old town) with lovely views of the stream which is right in front of the property.

ChinaWe stayed in one of the 2 deluxe rooms above the main entrance. the room was spacious and comfortable. As it is above a main thoroughfare you could hear people in the laneways at night and this could be at any time.
The Chinese breakfast was tasty and plentiful. However they will provide toast, fruit, eggs and yoghurt for a more western breakfast. Tea from their own family plantation was always offered at all times of the day and wonderful.

ChinaThis was a return visit to the property with my family. I was told that the room I’d chosen would be a little more noisy as it is along a thoroughfare… well it was a little too noisy for me. Next time we will book internal rooms like I had on my first visit… I heard no noise from passing people in that room.
Ann and Amy are the best hosts. All our needs were taken care off. They speak perfect English. Great location, so close to the sights and everything is within a comfortable walking distance. We will be back!

ChinaThe breakfast offerings are limited, there is a western and a local cuisine offer, but if you want something else, just ask the staff, for sure they will help you out with other options even if they have to go shopping outside. You can't park the car at the hotel, so you need to walk a bit to the parking lot, but actually this is very nice, Lijiang old city is car and bike free, making it a very safe place for kids to play carefree in the streets.
The Hotel has a nice position in Lijiang old city, it is close to the water, one of the main shopping streets and not too far from the edge where there is a parking lot. The hotel itself is beautiful, it has a nice inner garden and beautiful rooms. Just outside the hotel there is a street with lanterns and a small bridge over te water, this makes it a popular spot for taking pictures. The staff is very helpfull and always there to offer tea, coffee or something to eat.

ChinaIts not that i didn't like it.... but the water fountain kept me awake at night, which when i mentioned to Ann, she told me they could have turned it off at night.
The location was perfect, inside the ancient town. You had to enter through the security barrier which was fine as the security staff was very helpful and one of the staff from the hotel were there to greet us, even after our delayed evening flight. We were right on one of the streams within the town. The very best thing about the hotel was the staff. Ann and her sister were very helpful with all our questions and assisting with booking a private driver and tickets for the Romance of Lijiang show- also highly recommend this! Ann and her sister listened to our experiences in Lijiang and also about us and our family. In comparison to other properties that we saw throughout our 3 night stay we had much bigger rooms and they were private. Some Inn's have rooms with no other windows expect those which face a public courtyard. The chinese breakfast was very tasty and a speciality of Lijiang. I loved the rose petal tea (amongst other choices) which were offered. Tea was offered each time we returned to the hotel. Perhaps something for coffee drinkers to consider to bring their own coffee grounds and a plunger as only instant coffee was on offer. I can recommend the "wish you were here" coffee shop ( which also has live music) where they offer Italian coffee.... delicious!

SwitzerlandComing from the UK, Lijiang was our 3rd destination in China; an experience somewhat disappointing due to our stay at Jun Bo Xuan Boutique Hotel. Thus, we highly recommend you AVOID this establishment because of the following reason: 1) Unwarranted rating: the establishment has a 5 star rating on Booking.com. However, having primarily traveled in 5-star establishment, I can guarantee the service is closer to a 3 or sub-par 4-star rated establishment. The name is misleading on Booking.com as they advertise themselves as a Hotel when it is a Guesthouse/Inn in reality. You will be leaving in people’s home when paying the price of a 5-star hotel. (Booking.com should also make a better effort of vetting the description of properties) 2) Poor service: we stayed 4 nights, however the room was not even cleaned once. They only changed the towels. The garbage and sheets were not cleaned, no presence of a minibar and amenities such as toothbrush were not replaced 3) “Included Breakfast”: please do not expect a typical 5-star hotel breakfast as the Inn-keepers will feed you one bowl of rice noodles and some cheap cakes bought for a couple of cents at the store next door. On the day of our expedition, although we had paid for breakfast, they served us two kinds of cheap tbreads bought at the store next door and two bananas. On our last day, no breakfast was served, highlighting the final negative point (4) 4) Greedy Inn-keepers: the owners strongly insisted that we paid for an expensive partners show although we kept saying we wanted to visit the old town and were tired from traveling. They recommended we purchase tickets for 290CNY per person from the first day we stayed. The Inn-keeper kept harassing us at each encounter to purchase tickets. For the same price, your experience in Lijiang could have been completely different. As we navigated the streets of Old Town Lijiang, we took the opportunity to visit some alternative establishments.
The property is located at the center of the Old Town and they will offer to pick up your luggage from the taxi to the establishment. However, when you leave, you will need to pay yourself for the service.
