Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNo walk-in shower only over bathtub. Lobby bar staff not good English and made worst (and smallest) margarita ever! Restaurant Chinese food excellent but at 9pm staff packed away tables right next to me. Seems to me management charging 4 star prices for a 3 star service!
Huge 24th floor room towards the Bund only 15 minute walk away. 5 minutes from Metro #2 connecting w MagLev to Pudong airport, and 5 min from world’s biggest pedestrianised shopping street. Great hot shower and fluffy bathrobes, really helpful front desk.

MalaysiaPerhaps have more variety and changes in the food selection for breakfast. It can get a bit bored if you are staying a few nights.
The location is very convenient , 5 mins walk to metro and the famous Nanjing Road of Shanghai. Plenty of good restaurants within a short walking distance. The room was comfortable, spacious and quiet. Had good night sleeps. Staff are alert and speak reasonable English.

United KingdomNo USB plugs so it was difficult to charge things - however guest services will bring you phone chargers if you call them and ask!
Location is fantastic. Parallel to the main pedestrian street, and probably mid-way between both The Bund and People's Square. Metro stations are either under 5 minutes or around 10-15 minute walks depending on which line you need. The room was huge. Had a separate living area and bedroom. I stayed on Level 24 overlooking the street which was nice. Service was great - staff were very accommodating and helpful. Toothbrushes offered at check-in at the main desk, toiletries provided, but they'll give anything you need really.

SpainThe breakfast was not at the level of the hotel. It wasn't bad, but for that hotel I expected a better breakfast.
The location is perfect, less than 1 minute walk to Nanjin Pedestrian Road and 15 min walk to the Bund. The room is quite big and even has a working desk.

United States of AmericaThe only drawback was that due to the walls being entirely windows, in winter the heater at its max was a bit cool inside. We opened the windows during the day, which is a mistake if the night will be cold because you do not retain all that heat.
This is a beautiful luxe 4-star hotel I have dreamed of staying in for years, and with the US Dollar value at 7 to 1, a rare high value for us, it was only $93 a night! The service is great, the place is palatial with lovely deep posh wooden hallways, the room ample with all curving windows overlooking the city and I got the high floor I requested long ago. The location is amazing, right at the top end of the famous shopping street Nanjing East Road. It's about 10 block walk to the Bund or waterfront, called WaiTan in Chinese ("Why Tang"). It is also one block from the gorgeous Shanghai Book City (Xinhua Book Store) which has Western cafes if you want your eggs or waffles. Check out the Roosevelt Sky Bar, 27 Zhongshan Rd (waterfront), which opens at 2 pm for a city view, and don't miss the nightly light show on the waterfront. Amazing. The bed and pillows were OUT OF THIS WORLD comfortable. I never wanted to go home!

RussiaOn the first day, the room on the 40th floor smelled a lot of cigarettes. But I contacted a hotel employee and I had my room changed in 5 minutes. The hotel rooms are old, but with a beautiful view. Employees are the main treasure of the hotel, they make it the best in the area.
