Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Exquisitely decorated with extraordinary taste and attention to detail, the tea cozy hotel was the nicest hotel we stayed at in China. It was dramatically different from all the other hotels in Yangshuo. It was perfectly located and very comfortable. Hannah and the other staff couldn’t have been nicer, providing breakfast and advice on local attractions, performing a tea ceremony for us, and setting us up with electric scooters. In addition, it was ridiculously inexpensive- although it would was off season.

United KingdomSadly, the reason we couldn’t give this a 10 are for the reasons below. 1- The hotel offer activities which are all the ones people do here eg Bamboo rafting etc however, they overcharge so much that we just found it really disappointing. Because they offer Mastercard it allows foreigners to pay for everything with them to take any stress and hassle out of purchasing activities. However, they charge 340 for 2 to do bamboo rafting and the pier 2 minutes away from the hotel do it for 180 for 2. Can’t see why you’re paying such a premium and it would be nice to be able to go and book everything you need with them. The other expense was the car they arrange to get you to the station. This costs 350 with them however, we booked a didi from the station to the hotel and it took 2 minutes to arrive and cost 170. Again, double what the actually cost is so one can only assume that’s a margin they are putting on. 2- first place in China we’ve stayed at that don’t have washing machines you can operate yourself. They have to wash it for you and charge a crazy 30 per kilo. Don’t think it’s that expensive in the uk. 3- we came in Feb and sadly the 4 days we stayed it was rain and 8 degrees (still amazing place even then) but the week after was 20 degrees. We arrived to find the pool is closed from Dec - May but there’s no mention of this in the booking. Luckily, I didn’t fancy swimming in 8 degrees but if I had come a week later and had that weather and then booked thinking there would be pool there would have been an issue. Put it this way, I’m sure they aren’t reducing prices to cater for no pool! 4- due to it being cold we had dinner in the little snug because the restaurant was cold which was really lovely with the fire etc. However, at dinner we had the family children racing around shouting on FaceTime and pet Guniea pigs literally next to us while we were eating while they poo’d and urinated on the cushions with we then sit on for dinner.
This hotel really is lovely, the owners are very kind and helpful and by far the best people we have met in China in the 5 weeks we travelled here. We got a free upgrade from the hotel to the suite which made the experience amazing and is definitely worth the extra money if you are looking at upgrading. The service from other staff and food was brilliant and the free bike hire was helpful. The location is also perfect, you can see Yangshuo town but then escape the busy streets and stay in the tranquil surroundings. The English level from the hosts is fluent, we had no issue at all which is a first for us in China and made it very relaxing. So many hotels say English speaking and then you struggle with the words ‘check out’ so really appreciated this.

The hosts felt like our own family, we sat together by the fireplace, talked and drank, their English is great so you can learn a lot about the culture right there. The kitchen is the best one we had in Yangshuo, with typical regional dishes. The Garden is incredible and a peaceful place to enjoy a cup of tea which they have a lot and it’s really great, an alternative is their tea ceremony room right at the entrance. There are bicycles you can simply pick up and use to get around town which is really handy! The room was absolutely incredible, wooden bathtub, traditional tea set, traditional wardrobe, gigantic bed, lots of lighting choices, from natural to artificial and just overall really beautiful with all sorts of paintings from Guilin. The traditional Chinese details are everywhere in the room, it’s stunning. There are so many more things that I can say about the property but I’ve probably forgotten about them already. This place is a rarity in a sense that it is even more beautiful than the photos.

Germanyeverything was fine.
Very good hotel outside of Yangshuo City. The service is always there to help you and arrange everything you need. The food in the hotel restaurant was also good. There are a few menus to choose for breakfast and a lot of dishes for dinner. Both times you can choose between western and local meals.

SingaporeRichard and his staffs are amazing. The view from our rooms (pool and lily pond facing) is lovely. Even though there are no lilies in the pond as it is winter, the mountain view from our rooms is just magnificent! We enjoyed the relaxing and informative hourlong complimentary tea appreciation session --- came complete with fruits and snacks :). The hotel provides good choices of complimentary breakfast sets, ranging from local 桂林米粉 to toasts and waffles. Dinner is tasty and reasonably priced. Richard is very accommodating, allowing us to use the restaurant to play our boardgames after dinner, serving us complimentary free flow tea throughout our game and even help us cut fruits. Even though the hotel is not in the heart of city, it is very convenient to travel to city (cab ride is only ~US$2 to the city). We actually like the fact that it is not located in the city as it is more relaxing and the view is better. The hotel is right across a nice cafe, 5 mins walk from a strawberry picking farm and walking distance to bamboo rafting jetty. The hotel also provide scooter rental. Tea Cozy Hotel staffs give very good sightseeing and activities advices and helped us book the paid ones at a discount. I like the fact that they do not push sale on paid activities, instead they would actually advised us to do free sightseeing (amazing ones like the 3 bridges) that are more suitable for the weather. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Tea Cozy Hotel.

ChinaIt met my expectations and I didn't want to stay in a noisy place.
The rooms are nice and the hotel is in a quiet spot, away from the noise of downtown Yangshuo - if you have a scooter it takes about 20m to get downtown. It's a small hotel, staff is helpful and kind.

IrelandNothing! It was an amazing stay. Small suggestion of better reasonably priced wine for guests to buy. But really it is a fantastic place!
Everything!!! The staff are the nicest and the most hardworking people I have met in my 4 years in China! Hanna was especially helpful and friendly. The food is really good, we ate there every day. The facilities are open late and early and the pool is just gorgeous and super clean. One of the owners was really welcoming and shared a drink with us too. The room is beautiful and super clean. The towels were so fluffy and amazing. The bed was really comfortable. The view from the restaurant, pool and rooms was stunning! The free bikes were great, we took 2 mountain bikes and cycled a really nice trail by the river close by. The services from staff such a recommendations on hikes in Yangshuo and help booking tickets was awesome. I will definitely be back!

Hong KongNo complimentary coffee provided in room despite a sign in room saying otherwise; room security/locks could be better (regular turn keys are used and doors seem to open easily); several small spiders found on bedding on first night which is understandable given the mountain setting but it made it hard to relax in bed.
Great location - about 5km away from Yangshuo town and right across the road from the beautiful riverwalk. Staff were extremely helpful. Xiaohe helped me get a covid test in town (showed me how to set up an account on the hospital mini-app) and staff members also organized a trusted driver to take me to Xianggong Mountain at dawn and a rideshare to take me back into Guilin. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and filling (loved the homemade doujiang) and the dining area was a really nice place to relax. The hotel provides free bikes to use - amazing! I biked into town and cycled along the Ten-Mile Gallery. If you aren't in such a hurry I really recommend this way of getting around so you can really appreciate and marvel at the scenery. The hotel style and building/s are very charming with an emphasis on natural materials and Chinese design. My 5th floor room had a cute balcony with a nice view!

ChinaI loved the location, aesthetic, pool, food, staff and everything at this hotel. We had a lovely balcony overlooking the mountains. The place feels traditional Chinese which is what we wanted. The pool overlooks the lily pads and is a perfect escape from the heat. The food is good. And the staff are extremely helpful. I have already recommended this place and would stay there again

BelgiumAll the staff of the hotel, from the receptionist to the cleaning ladies are extremely nice and welcoming. Always a smile or a word asking how we are doing. The hotel is very well located: 30 m from the hotel, there is a pedestrian path that leads to the river. For the bicycle section, you just have to ride 900m and then you are on the marvelous path that has been built between the river, the rice fields, and the mountains. A path that must be about 15 km long in a wonderful landscape. The hotel provides several bicycles free of charge to the guests. This is a real plus. Our room was located on the 4th floor, with a magnificent view of the lotus fields, the river, and the mountain. We also had a terrace. Special attention was given to us on the occasion of our wedding anniversary. Besides the included breakfast, there is also the afternoon tea which is offered every day.
