Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Costa RicaThe waiting time at check in and out could be shortened if an additional receptionist were there. You get horribly bitten by some small insects and it lasts for a long time. An anti insect spray is a must, especially in the evening or in the morning when you want to sit comfortably on your terrace. The food in the restaurant does not correspond to the overall impression of the facility and is definitely in need of improvement
The small hiking trail around the hotel was very nice. Really beautifully laid out. The hot springs, bubbling mud and hot steam were also impressive. It makes you realize that you are very close to the volcano or gives you the feeling of being on the volcano. The complex and the little houses are very beautiful and well maintained. Yes it's a really nice hotel with a great pool and spa facility.

United States of AmericaIf you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs because it is very loud at night. Our only complain was the pillows and very small beds even though we requested one bed instead of two.

United States of AmericaThe road to get to the resort is challenging.
Our favorite stay in Costa Rica. The resort is located in the mountains with beautiful hikes and waterfall nearby. The Hot Springs are extremely soothing. The staff is wonderful and the rooms were spotless with furry comfortable beds. The natural surroundings are breathtaking a great value.

United States of AmericaOn our 2nd day, we lost electricity and internet 4 times while in the room. The problem was fixed within 10-15 minutes each time, so it wasn't a huge deal, but we did find ourselves using a flashlight at night to wait until the lights came back on to shower. I also have to echo what most other reviews say: the last 30 minutes of the drive in from Liberia are nerve-wracking - and we had a new, 4x4 SUV. If you're a timid driver or aren't equipped with a capable car, I'd hire transportation to reach this place.
We visited for my daughter's birthday; for a family with 2 young kids, this resort was wonderful! Unlike similar establishments in the area, it is very family-friendly. We encountered many other families participating in an array of activities on property. As our girls are so young, the adventure-activities weren't on our agenda; instead, we really enjoyed the mud bath experience, the pool, steam room, and the hot springs (caution with young kids: don't let them dunk their heads!) There were definitely bugs on property/in the room, but somehow we never got bitten. The grounds are beautifully manicured and breakfast was very nice. We thought a 2-night stay was perfect!

CanadaThere was a grill restaurant on the website that stated it was open late. We avoided eating near the airport, as we had a 3 hour wait at car rental (power went out because of an accident), and then we wanted to grab a bite when we got there. We were told the kitchen closed at 10:00 p.m. Bummer for us - all of us were hungry.
Wonderful stay - felt like we were away form tourist traps. Lovely stay in the mountain. The pool was quiet and the hot springs were neat (natural smell of sulphur). Woke up to many birds and howling monkey sounds. Beds were very comfortable and the restaurant was set in lovely scenery and good food.

CanadaVery isolated so you need to have all your meals there. If you have a vehicle it's 35 minutes to the closest little town on rough roads. If you have mobility problems be aware there is lots of steep walking involved on the resort grounds.
Variety of thermal pools, mud bath and very nice pool. Lots of wildlife around the resort in a stunning setting. Breakfast was good.

FranceThere were some small black worms in the room that would come during the night. I guess they were harmless but better sealing of the door and windows would have helped. After we told the reception there were less the following night :-) The restaurants, when we arrived we were told there were two options and we decided to start with the main restaurant la carretta to discover then that the other one closed for the rest of our stay ! We would have appreciated they had told us we could at least have tried it. For the main restaurant we did not particularly enjoy the meals they were quite expensive but average quality and a lot of sauce to cover the taste…

CanadaA lot of mosquitoes and I feel it would be highly recommended to warn families verbally upon check-in about the dangers of putting your head under water in the hot springs as one of the signs was covered.

Wonderful wonderful staff, beautiful grounds. The staff were accommodating of dietary restrictions at breakfast. The hot springs were quiet and peaceful. It was lovely walking up and down the hills. The road to the property is bumpy but pretty typical gravel road most of the way, with some parts with major pot holes. Just go slow, or use the property’s shuttle!
