Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaA lot of options of things to do from relaxing by the pool, observing nature or taking one of the many excursions offered . Room was large and comfortable. My husband is gluten free and we were pleasantly surprised by the many options for him —/ quite different from any other hotel we have been to!

United States of AmericaI didn’t like the attitude of one of the ladies on reception when I told her the shuttle driver, in hind sight, it was someone who worked with him - told me the last shuttle would pick me up at 4pm but it didn’t until 4.30pm. All in all, it took an hour including waiting time to get back to the hotel. When I told the lady this she said that the drivers do not speak English (I did actually speak English to one driver plus I speak Spanish), then pointed at the times on the shuttle schedule. She was rude. But saying that, another lady at reception and gentleman were very helpful and nice to me.
The grounds are amazing - enjoyed doing some short hikes by myself and really enjoyed the natural thermal pools. The food was very good too! My room was a very good size and had a nice shower with lovely shower gels provided by the spa. Plenty of eating options too.

United States of AmericaThere is nothing we didn’t enjoy.
We loved how well thought out the property is. There is a lot to see and experience and while it’s all on site, it is spread out. So you have the convenience of everything in proximity but it’s not on top of each other. Also there is a sense of authenticity about the place. The culture is very much felt and celebrated. The staff was amazing. So hard working and delightful. The rooms were comfortable and the hammocks and seating areas outside were so relaxing. We loved all the activities and hikes and the close proximity to the Liberia airport.

United KingdomIf you don’t have a car then a taxi/shuttle to the hotel is rather expensive. It cost is $120 from Liberia airport at night, and $60 to Liberia downtown in the day.
We spent two weeks travelling around Costa Rica and this hotel was still one of my favourites. The unique selling point is that it is so accessible to nearby attractions, with some being part of their estate and there being a free shuttle service to the national park and hot springs. Hiring a car in CR is very expensive so it was great not having to rely on one for this part of the trip. They also offer numerous activity packages for a reasonable price with more flexible times. Everything else about our stay including the rooms and restaurant were very good value also.

SwitzerlandThis resort has a lot of rooms and groups, so at times it became a bit too populated for us like for the meals or at the rather tiny pool.
Professionally managed "resort" Plenty of opportunities on the resort area (waterfalls, ponds, hot baths) Very comfortable rooms Very convenient access to National Park

United States of AmericaThe property is very large and there a loads of people both staying there and visiting for day trips and excursions. The "mud bath" was not really what you'd imagine. It was more "touristy" than we were prepared for, but everything was well done as far as that goes!
The rooms are large, clean and well-appointed. The grounds are well-kept, and the staff is helpful. Customer service was excellent. Breakfast buffet was great. It was also nice to have the Hot Springs on site, even though this required a drive to get there and access. Additionally it was lovely to be able to visit the waterfalls right on site, and to access Rincon de la Vieja National Park very easily without leaving the property.

CanadaKeep in mind that there is nothing else close by so if you want anything not available on the property then its at least a 30 min drive.
A perfect escape into the jungle, with many waterfalls close by and access to the national park to explore the volcanos. There's plenty to do without needing a tour (and lots of tour option to choose from too) and the rooms are designed to be relaxing, with your own patio and hammock to enjoy. The food in the restaurants was delicious, a nice blend of Costa Rican cuisine and international dishes. I would highly recommend going to the spa - the experience is magical and the setting for getting a massage is truly a unique experience.
