The wifi was very slow at times.

Our cabina was beautiful, the pool was clean and pleasant, and the restaurant on-site was an added bonus. It was a very easy walk to the beach with lots of wildlife.

Little way from shops. Not good as we were ill on one day

The staff was great with the exception of the man that says he lives at the property and claims he is the acting manager, he was very rude, but the rest of the staff made up for his poor customer interactions.

Great location in the center of town. Enjoyed the pool in the center of the property.

The kitchen was minimally supplied. The fridge is a very small apartment fridge with not a very good freezer. The frying pans need replaced because in bad shape. Need a vegetable peeler and at least salt and pepper. Hand towel in bathroom would be nice. Should have a blender for cold drinks. Not enough parking space inside the gate.

Pool and restaurant were great. Shower next to oool to clean off good idea and refreshingly cool water. Good air conditioning. Ice is available near reception. Bedrooms were well set up and good bathroom and shower. Nice to be in walking distance to National Park Beach. Be careful of the surf but if you walk down the beach and out to the whale’s tail during low tide it is good swimming to the right at the tail. Also walkable to restaurants and a good soda called Soda y Pizzeria El Remolquito. Highly recommended. Good food for great price

It would have been nice to have a small refrigerator in the room .

We stayed in the motel style portion and it served our purpose nicely. The staff were nice and allowed us to park our vehicle and explore the park before coming back to check in as we arrived early. The small room was clean and comfy and the bathroom was quite roomy. The air conditioning worked well and the heavy drapes helped provide privacy and keep the early morning sun out. The pool was lovely and the water warm. The grounds were well looked after . We enjoyed visiting with other travelers and the owner around the pool. The onsite restaurant was really handy and the food was good. Breakfast was also good.

No dining table, if you self cater you must eat on the sofa

The pool was clean and accessible. The apartment was cleaned daily. The beds were comfortable and the was ac (which is fundamental in that area of Costa Rica as temperatures are very high). The position is great, only minutes from the national park and the beach.

Room was very small and because it was close to the swimming pool, it didn't feel very private.

This is a well run small hotel. It has some lovely cottages at the back that have 2 bedrooms and full kitchens. However, this time we stayed in a small room adjacent to the swimming pool. This time we stayed only for one night so it was OK. For a longer stay, we would recommend the larger cottages. There was a restaurant on site, which was convenient.

Sadly there was no fridge in the room so it was impossible to keep water and drinks cold. If not possible to provide it would be very useful if you could buy chilled bottled water and soft drinks on site. Restaurant not open until 1pm.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was exceptional. We loved our stay and felt that Tropical Beach matched the vibe of it's location, low key and Costa Rican . Our room was ok in size, the bed was comfortable and there were some hooks and hangers, a shelf unit, for storage. The shower was amazing. Air conditioning and an overhead fan kept us cool and were very much needed, it was extremely hot whilst we were there. We were upstairs and it was nice to have the table and chairs outside our room to sit on and be in the shade. The pool was a godsend and it was well maintained and clean. Not huge but plenty big enough to cool off in. Sun lounges were great but we could only use once they were in the shade, early afternoon. Tropical Beach could not have been better placed if you're looking for a chilled, laid back stay. 5 minutes walk to the beach ( National Park $6 plus taxes per day, free after 4pm). Absolutely fantastic, enormous sandy beach, trees provide shade. When tide is in it comes right up to the tree line. Safe swimming, great waves, surfers paradise. We found 5 great places to eat within 5 mins walking distance, including the Mexican which is independent of but on the same site of Tropical Beach. Surf boards and bikes can easily be hired, taxis quick and easy to order if you want to explore or eat further afield.

We ordered on sight breakfast which was convenient and reasonable but wish we had realized better breakfast places were so close!

Close to park, walkable neighborhood- easy access to breakfast and a nice restaurant. Onsite parking. Laundry service was key! GREAT VALUE

Many insect inside (cockroach, too, I think this is a standard in CR), only basic equipment, no beach nearby, sometimes problem with parking and noisy guests who don't respect the rules
