Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaWi-fi was not working in my room - when asked to have the issue fixed, staff just restarted the router and it still did not work, and they did not care that it did not. Since I needed the connection for work also, I found the experience stressful.

SwedenThe room was very cold, especially the bathroom floor. The bathroom walls did not go all the way to the ceiling. The walls were more like room dividers. The room was not very soundproof. You could hear other guests talking and the light from the corridor came through a gap in the door. No hooks or shelves for your clothes or toilet bag in the bathroom while taking a shower.
Easy to find parking nearby. Comfortable beds. Quiet area.

GermanyStaff office balcony was right below my window and people were chain smoking there, which meant that my entire bedroom smelled like a chimney between 6:00am on every morning. It was extremely bothersome to be woken up to what felt like someone was suffocating you with cigarette smoke…
For a single room, i was positively overwhelmed with the space and amenities. There was a big comfy bed (sturdy mattress) with fresh pillows and duvet - set up for great sleep. I also had a large clean bathroom and a walk in closet. All in all, great value for a last min booking near conference center and public transport.

CanadaThe staff didn't seem to know that we could buy cold drinks form them and appeared gouchy when we asked to purchase them.
The location was perfect and was in close proximity to the centre of the city. The neighbourhood location was beautiful and we enjoyed walking onthe streets.

FranceWifi was so so for one day, then it came better and I had no issue.
Very charming bedroom, comfortable, well decorated. Nice location close to Stephenplatz, big public garden, and Alster lake. I did not test the breakfast. The value for money was good, to my opinion.

United KingdomGround floor room with window opening onto where the bins were stored which was a bit noisy and smelly at times. I didn't spend a lot of time in the room so this wasn't a big problem for me.
Good sized room, comfortable bed and decent shower. A short walk from the conference centre, botanical gardens, train station and small supermarket.

NetherlandsVery noisy rooms, you can hear everything and everybody. From people on the corridor walking to the neighbours talking. Luckily everybody was quite quiet, but it can also happen that you have loud neighbours. Other thing missing is ventilation: you need to keep the window on the street open. We did not know this and woke up in a warm, moist and not enough oxygen air.
Great location and we had a big room.

GermanyThe room on the photo on the booking.com was not the same room provided to us. Little sofa was missing and window view was on the inner garden. Sink for washing hands was outside the bathroom. Which is a bit weird but ok. But I’d not like to stay longer than one/two nights there.
It was very nicely located. I liked a lot that beds were cozy, room was clean, and the building and the room had a nice vibe.

FranceAs others wrote, the hotel is located in what was at some point a grand old building. While you can still guess what the building must have look like, its interior decorations haven't been well maintained and many moldings and old doors have been crudely painted over. There are multiple hotels in there, Amsterdam is on the second floor with some additional rooms on the ground floor. I had a room on the ground floor. The floor in that area is solid wood, and it creaks to no end. There doesn't seem to be any soundproofing either, so you'll hear every move of your neighbors and they'll hear yours. The bathroom was a little room built into a corner of the main room, and small -- one person at a time. Most of the furniture apart from the settee seemed to be Ikea, and not in a very good condition. There was a dearth of power plugs, and I had to unplug a bunch of things (TV, clock, etc) to get some power near the bed. The wifi was terribly slow in the evening. They provided a network cable in my room, which I used the first two nights for a private wifi access point. It worked much better, but after that they blocked access to the internet via the cable. Finally, the breakfast is very basic and is definitely not worth the 15€ asked for it.
The hotel is very close to the Congress Center Hamburg, just on the other side of the railway line. The train station Hamburg Dammtor sits in the middle. There's a few small supermarkets within walkable distance. It's a quiet neighborhood, there's a bit of noise from the large street running next to the train line but it's not really noticeable when the windows are closed. My room was big and airy.

United KingdomThe only two things that let it down were the sofa in my room (14) was looking a little worse for wear, and could do with a deep clean. Other than that the room was immaculate, and it wouldn't stop me staying here again, and recommending it to others. The WIFI wasn't great in room 14 when trying to do some work, it wasn't great at connecting.
It is a great location, only a 5 minute walk to the train station. A quirky hotel with great rooms, and excellent service from the staff. The breakfast was really fresh, and the waiters were so nice. Room 14 was a great size, and front facing so the view is great. Also really quiet and no noise from other rooms or outside.

GermanyThe shower was not consistently warm, and there were several maintenance issues from dead light bulbs, to furniture that didn't close properly, to internet connection failures. Also, the only pillow was much too soft to provide any head support, and was an awkward size.
The hotel was very clean and calm, with a good air quality and a classic vibe. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I slept better than expected and was easily able to get to my destinations during the day by foot.
