My room lacked a desk which was difficult for work. Also, maybe it was just me but it smelled like cigarette smoke. If I didnt know better, the person under me or next to me was smoking and I could smell it in the lobby.

Location was good. Checking in was easy and efficient. Breakfast was fantastic, Spa was wonderful.

Thel check-in hour needs to be done before 9pm. It's very pressurised to meet the time.

Staff were often not available to ask simply questions; which didn’t necessitate a call to the emergency number.

Our room was spacious and lovely with a well equipped and designed bathroom. The balcony was an additional excellent feature. Breakfast was fine, similar to what we’ve experienced in other nearby hotels.

This hotel claims to be a "smoke-free property," but there was an ashtray on our balcony. This encourages people to smoke. And smoke they did! GROSS! Our first night was during the recent European heat wave so we left our door open (no AC in most of Europe). We had to close it when someone smoked because the fumes came into our room. This happened nearly every night. The next day we bought a rotating desk fan so we could sleep in the heat even if we had to close the door. We made do. But for an otherwise wonderful hotel, the cigarette smoke was a huge turn-off. The pillows were not comfortable--too hard and fat.

As most have stated, the breakfast was great. After 5 days, though, it got a wee bit boring. But there was enough you could switch it out, so it was my fault it was boring. The location was a bit too far to walk into town (for us anyhow), but it was a great location otherwise. Especially for the King Ludwig II's birthday light show celebration!

Location was perfect. Away from the center with parking but easy walking distance on safe paths. Rooms were large with sitting areas and step in showers which was needed for mobility issues. Staff was friendly and breakfast was good with a lot of variety.

Be sure not to shop at Heinzeller in the village. The owner yells at almost everyone walking into his shop. I’ll never recommend Oberammergau because of him.

Not much of a negative here. It would be lovely to have access to hot water (maybe near to the vending machine) so guests could have warm/hot beverages for the evening. Or perhaps giving guests the option, during breakfast time, to book advance order for hot drinks in the evening...

Fantastic view from our two balconies. A healthy selections for breakfast, love the walking path next to the stream, a good 15minutes walk to Oberammagau station if you enjoy walking. Spa in the evening was relaxing (booking must be made in due in on that day so the staff can prepare the facilities in advance (Management was quick to respond to rectify a minor hiccup due to miscommunication so we are happy with the outcome). Overall, the management team are attentive and respectful. The hotel cleanliness is commandable indicative that the place is cared for and they value their business.

I didn't notice when I booked it that there was no fridge or tea and coffee making facilities. I didn't check because I thought this was pretty standard so this was disappointing. I asked the staff to put my food in the fridge which they did, grudgingly, but unfortunately it was put in the freezer instead. Oh well. Not being able to make a hot drink was annoying too.

The hotel was very quiet, we had a comfortable bed and the wifi worked well. Breakfast was good and we parked right outside the front door for free which made it easy to take our luggage in and out. It was a pleasant ten minute walk to lots of shops and restaurants, but beware, most shops are closed on Sundays! We enjoyed eating at S'Wirtshaus (recommended by our host) and Hotel Wolf, and also enjoyed the view of the village from our small balcony.

Door to the bathroom was see-through so there was no privacy without rigging up an towel or blanket to block it, and there was no hot water/coffee machine in the room to make coffee and tea after the breakfast is closed.

Breakfast was delicious and there were lots of options, hotel is very eco-friendly, spectacular views, easily walk to the heart of Oberammergau, parking available on site.
