I thought it was supposed to be a two-bedroom, but the second bed was in the kitchen, and the kitchen faces a quite loud street. Technically it's possible to use it as a two bedroom, since all the doors did close, and in the winter it wouldn't be a problem to close the windows. The internet was a bit annoying because you had to log back in with a password every time you wanted to use it and there was no option to save the login info. It wasn't one of those fun, easy passwords, either. If you like to cook, you'll be disturbed by the vintage non-stick cookware!

The balcony was nice. The towels were fluffy. It was clean. Check-in was easy. There's a great view of some factory smokestacks out of the kitchen window, so you really get a sense of the town. I did really appreciate the roll-down blinds which make it completely dark in the bedroom and the kitchen.

- I have to say: at apartment 1, the oven is missing 1 inner glass plate so the oven can get very hot on the outside and watch out with the hands of children's, that want to touch the oven. My kid told me that it was very hot and we protected him from the hot glass. This could be a danger situation for young kids. But beside that, it was good and we recommend to stay at this house. - We were with 2 adults and 1 kid and it cost extra to have a kids blanket. This is a weird rule they have. So I brought a extra adult blanket with me. It's better if the apartment offer a adult size blanket for the kids stay.

A friendly woman named Melissa had received us. We arrived a bit later and we had e-mailed the hostess that 1 hour in advance, because she didn't have to wait for us on the booking time. She has a phone number, but unfortunately she doesn't answer it (we tried Whatsapp and calling). She doesn't speak English, but with basic explanation we got far. There is a folder with everything in terms of house rules and WiFi code (it's a hot spot connection) . We stayed there for 4 nights and on the 5th day we had to leave the house at 10 am. At our stay we were less at home and more outside, so this is an ideal place to shower and sleep. You get bed linen, bedding, sleeping pillows and towels. I missed a cleaning sponge in the kitchen, but I brought it from my own home so i was set. If you stay longer, bring extra kitchen towels and toilet paper with you. Or maybe you can ask for it and get it at your stay. We stayed in apartment 1 and it was all well arranged. + the beds were good to sleep on, Ikea matras + outside shutters that blackout the room for better sleeping experience + cleaning products, cleaning mop, vacuum cleaner, iron, hair dryer (not very powerful dryer) Thanks for letting us stay! :)

Off-street parking was available and we never had difficulties finding a spot, but loading/ unloading the luggage + kids across the street was a tiny bit of a hassle.

Excellent value for money! Great location for families, good access to Oberhausen CentrO/ Movie Park and around, a nice grassy playground nearby, restaurants + shops within a short walking distance. Nice friendly ladies, fine + clean facility. We felt very much at home :-)

Nothing major and nothing that impacted my positive score/review. At this price point it’s hard to argue anything really. But what would be nice to have is a cutting board and some sharper knives in the kitchen.

It’s nice, clean and pretty spacious. We’ve been welcomed by a very friendly hostess. Overall, great value and solid location to explore the ‘Ruhrgebied’.

The house was very cold and the heaters were not on. When we asked the host to increase the temperature of the heater, she gave us an extra blanket instead. The blanket was also very thin and of course this was not enough, we were very cold during the two days we stayed.

Staff were nice and polite and there was a bus station in front of the flat.

I very much liked the area, it is within walking distance from the Rhein-Herne Kanal and there is a nice walk along the channel. The neighborhood is very quiet and even picturesque if you venture away from the main street. The garden was very nice to sit and relax in, and the overall experience was very nice and cozy. The distance from city center is a bonus for all who appreciates quieter travel experiences, and yet every location in the city is accessible within minutes via an excellent public transportation network. The bakery nearby was an added bonus.

The pricing policy felt icky. You are only provided one roll of toilet paper for your entire stay and one plastic bag per trash can. If you are not being charged for young children on the reservation, then you are to either bring duvet and pillow covers and towels for the kids or pay per day for those to be provided.

What made Apartment 4 a hit for my family with two young kids was Melanie and her sister decorating every room with little snowmen and Santas from Christmas. They even brought us a large plastic Christmas tree and ornaments we set up later as a family. We had chosen this vacation home because of the washing machine and provision of toys but had not expected such a warm welcome. We traveled by train and bus. The bus stop is right by the house! Getting to and from train stations by bus went well.

It was a noisy place, banging and talking. Beds uncomfortable and room not as in pictures. Overpriced at over €80+ per night.
