It was very homely and the woman who runs it was so friendly and accommodating. She offered great recommendations of viewpoints in town, how to access the metro train and get to the Messe easily, as well as making a lovely breakfast. The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable and even had a balcony! I would stay here again. Thanks!

Bringing the suitcases to and from the second floor a little cumbersome. Luckily when we arrived the son of the ownwer helped us to carry the suitcases up!

Location inside the old walls was very good. Breakfast very good and the owner and son were very helpful in assisting in getting some reservations for some other restaurants.

No lift lift, so 4th floor took some time to ascend, but inteding guests are advised on booking of "no liifts".

Superb location, just 3 mins walk from the U-bahn and located in the city centre. Very competively priced and room was great value for money with additional features such as mini-fridge and kettle.

In the Old Town area, this room is larger than the others. All you can eat. Coffee refill. Fresh fruit. Delicious bread. Scramble egg! Meats, cheese. But most of all frau Kerstin smile.

After spending four nights at a rather impersonal hotel in Berlin, it was a delight to arrive at the Franconia City Hotel. Located within the old walled city, it is an easy 15 minute walk from the Nuremberg train station. We were greeted by the most helpful Tim and Kerstin. Our room was delightful, much more charming, larger and cheaper than in Berlin. Our room was spotless. The bathroom was well lit and sported at great shower with plenty of hot water. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the well appointed dining room. We forgot our phone charger in Berlin and Tim immediately provided us with a loaner. It was just a short walk to two lovely restaurants, both of which we enjoyed very much. It was a short walk to the underground for a trip to the Dokumentation Center out of town and an easy walk to the Memorium Trials Museum. We love the hotel and loved Nuremberg.

Great location to walk and tour everything old Nuremburg had to offer. 15 minute walk from the train station and just a couple blocks away from the pedestrian area where all the Christmas markets were.

I felt cold in the room even though I turned on the AC, but I think it's because I am so sensitive to cold. There are no lift.

The stay was exceptional, beyond all expectations. The welcome was very warm, and I was welcomed as if I were entering a friend's house. The owners, mother and son, gave us all the information about the city by offering us a map. The room was very large, comfortable, well furnished. Very comfortable beds and ideal internal warm temperature. The bathroom with a very large shower. The hotel's location is ideal for visiting the heart of Nuremberg. A lot of opportunities for good food all around. It is located a short walk from the metro stop, but can easily be reached on foot from the station in a few minutes. The breakfast space was very beautifully decorated, with the warm colors of the Christmas period. I didn't have breakfast but the buffet was rich and complete. Thanks for the hospitality!

Everything was fine, the location is near the underground station and very close to the city centre, to the central square is 10-15 minutes walking. In the hotel everything very cosy and clean. From the beginning we were informed about all the locations and recommendations to see. If we come to the city in future, we will stay here!

I really can not fault this establishment and the wonderful Kirsten and Tim. We will definitely return for another stay.

The hotel was situated perfectly. The hosts could not have been more attentive and went out of their way to help us when the airline left us with no hand luggage and coats in -6 temperatures. The breakfast was extensive and presented beautifully with no time constraints. The beds were quality, and we slept soundly every night. Access out of hours was easy, and the friendly and warm atmosphere created was something which we will never forget. When our return flights were cancelled 12 hours before we were due to check out, we were offered another nights accommodation. We managed to find new flights, but the offer gave us time to think straight and I can not thank Kirsten enough for making a very stressful situation so much easier for us.

A few minor niggles (relating to water pressure, usb ports and non-functional fridge) didn’t put a damper on our stay at all! We didn’t mention them to reception as we didn’t really need them; if we had I’m sure they’d have happily sorted them out.

The wonderfully warm welcome from the delightful and very informative proprietor started our stay in the best possible way!

Everything was wonderful. I can only recommend installing an Internet amplifier on the floor and purchasing more hangers for the closet.

Friendly staff. The place is located in the old town, near many interesting historical monuments and restaurants offering local cuisine. The room is spacious with a comfortable bed. Clean & cozy. I recommend it! Travel Tip: If you plan to visit multiple museums in a single day, present the receipt from the first museum when purchasing a ticket for the second one to avail a discount.

It's hard to speak highly enough of this wonderful hotel! The welcome we received was very warm, Kerstin the host going to great lengths to suggest the places most worth seeing in the old city. I'd certainly advise taking her up on her restaurant recommendations (note also that right by the hotel is what iis suppposedly the oldest sausage making restaurant in the world - their sausages are definitely really good!) Our room was really spacious and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was great - a really good range of options that included a few that had thoughtfully been included for international visitors who might have specific desires from back home. We travelled through Germany by train - the hotel is easily accessible being an easy 10 minute walk from the main HBF station. All in all, it's a great place!

Because we were in the middle of town it was a bit noisy on the Saturday night, but with the windows closed and aircon we were able to sleep.

The room was spacious and we really appreciated the aircon as it was a very hot spell. Location was ideal for all the sights and the train station. Our train was v late in arriving and our host had a pragmatic solution which she emailed us about, so we were able to arrive and get in at our leisure. Big relief! She was also incredibly hospitable and helpful giving us suggestions and tips on where to visit and eat, which made the trip much more memorable.
