Their Bistro was closed in the evenings - but it was the low season. They charge a bit more if you're over 27!!! Apart from that, there was nothing not to like!

Useful low cost modern and clean Yoth Hostel style Hotel. Everythnig was basic, functional and spotlessly clean. No frills, a simple bed, a good shower, two chairs and a small table comprised the rooms - rather like a University Hall of residence room. Breakfast was self-serve, with a good range of cereals, breads, rolls, fruit, meats and cheeses, plus the usual drinks. The whole place was DiY - strip your own beds, clean up after yourself, clear you own table etc. but it worked really well. And the price was very competetive (IMHO) for Heidelberg.

The breakfast was a little limited, and didn't offer any cooked meat or eggs, which was a shame as I was in town for a martial arts camp, and needed extra protein. The laundry facilities were also limited to 1 washer and 1 dryer, which were both a bit temperamental and difficult to use effectively. I couldn't get any dinner at 19.15 one night, despite the stated finishing time of 19.30 as they had run out of food. That's a bit poor, and meant I had to go into town to eat. There were a lot of screaming kids running around every part of the hostel, so the quiet room didn't work out. Perhaps the quiet room areas should be off-limits for children's foot races, and warning signs posted to please keep the noise down?

The staff were universally friendly and helpful. The location was ideal, and good shower heat and pressure.

No wifi in the room, only in the common area downstairs. No power outlet near the bed.

Waking up to the sound of elephants. :-) Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast (included). Free parking. Bus stop close by (although I didn't use it).

Extra money was charged under the name of membership. I am not saying that Heigelberg has not many things to see but it was just a couple of nights there for me. And i will never visit Heidelberg again in my life. But why did this youth hostel charge me extra money as a membership?

Excellent location next to the river. Easy to get to from the town centre. Next to the Zoo so you can even see some animals from the terrace. Excellent breakfast. Very good value for money.

The location is 40-50 min walk from city center, also around 10 min by bus and buses are quite often. There is no plug near bed which is bad for charging your phone and no stove in the kitchen, only microwave. No towel and soap in the bathroom too.

The internet didn't function, the breakfast didn't serve eggs, the bathroom had no soap or towels, and there was no public transportation to the facility after 1am. I could have stayed at a centrally located hotel for the same price. I would not recommend this facility.

The room was on the ground floor and it was very easy to see into the room from outside. The shower was missing a soap holder which means one has to bend down in order to grip shower gel and shampoo on the floor inside the shower.

i won't call it as Youth hotel, even the price are way too expensive then youth hotel. No aircon and can't open the window cos outside always very loud. far away from every where. I will never visit it again.

1) The check-in procedure is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery long. Info given through Booking. com has to be repeated. 2) The hostel charged extra for 'a mandatory membership', so higher price than what was agreed through Booking.com 3) The hostel is huge, and the car park much too small compared to its size. Had to park my car 15 minutes away (opposite direction compared to downtown) 4) Really far from downtown, 45 min walk through some half dodgy paths. Bus is alternative, but barely faster.

Breakfast buffet is varied and nice.
