Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

If staying for longer, would have needed more items for the bathroom (just ordinary soap was provided).
Great location when traveling with a pet. Was only there for a night stay while making a long drive. Rooms are a little outdated but still found very comfortable. Also had direct access to outside, which was great with the dog. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The steps going up to the accommodation were in need of repair as loose / broken tiles could cause an accident esp in the wet.
Room had a balcony overlooking the river with stunning views. The breakfast would cater for anyone as such a good variety.

The facility is a little worn & in need of upgrading. However, it’s great value for money

The hotel was full, so my room was looking out at the car gate. Not much privacy, but still - a nice room.
Amazing location by the river. Great for walks. Very friendly staff.

The staff is very German, goes with the old fashioned clientele. I forgot my passport and it was a bit of a fuss ..I showed the receptionist my driving licence and health insurance card so they had to handle me the keys but it was such a fuss. That said it’s a countryside resort and I am from the city, maybe I was a bit unusual, that’s part of the adventure! None the less I highly recommend the hotel.
It’s really unique and a perfect location to hide through the weekend, it’s very cosy with bright and spacious rooms, a great view, very clean . Great value too.

Extremely noisy rooms, you can hear your neighbors talking, eating or coughing. Parking on site is not free!
Decent enough. Good beds, clean rooms, excellent breakfast, decent restaurant, cute cats coming into our room.

The noise; walls are too thin, guests making too much noise in the corridors with total disregard for other guests. Maybe notices should be implemented to inform people of this.
The location is excellent, the room was nice and it was nice to sit outside the room.

We did not experience any problems.
We arrived very late, just before they closed for the evening. We just needed a place to sleep and then to move on early next morning. The hotel was very fine for this simple purpose and moderately priced as well.

Rather small room in a building with many stairs - but the view from the big balcony was excellent
Located on the banks of a slowly flowing river - several guests went for a swim!

Room was small. Had to move table in room and it was obvious no-one had cleaned underneath it in a long time. Maintenance of outside areas needs to be improved eg: broken tiles on steps to pool, wooden fence around pool flimsy, weeds growing through tiles, plants in pots dead. Automatic entry & exit barriers did not work for my car. Stairs to room difficult for me (70 years old with breathing issues and no lift.
Fabulous location. Warm welcome. Great staff. Great breakfast. Good food & service. Nice view from room.

I could hear the guests next door watch TV, it felt like I was in their room , reception staff not welcoming

In the evening I asked for soup in the restaurant, but it was more like some sauce. The fried were very good. The parking is very strange, narrow street, very steep to the paid parking (10Euro). Free parking at nearby road.
