Room,although clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed, was a little cramped. The bathroom in particular was very small with the toilet and wash basin almost on top of each other. Would imagine a larger person would have difficulty in negotiating the facilities.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location just behind the Kufurstendam was very good and the area seemed very safe. The hotel is situated in a beautiful old building with the old original staircase.

My room was on the same floor as the reception and breakfast area. As the door not seals with the floor, I got woken up by the breakfast smell as well as the noise coming from the breakfast area. In addition the rooms are not very sound proof. I heard my neighbor coughing all night.

Because the building is from 1860 it is not very soundproof. I had very noisy upstairs neighbours, probably children. So no blame on the hotel!

Old furniture, outdated decor, all a bit creaky and old. The bathrooms are a little bit improvised - just stud partition walls in a bedroom, making it feel a little bit makeshift, and they’re rather small. While showering, you do hit the walls… I haven’t tried the breakfast - it felt too expensive. You can get breakfast in nearby cafés much cheaper.

Good location, good transport links, shops, etc… practical and quiet hotel. Does the job.

Wifi needs improvement. It could be because my room is located at the end of the corridor on the second level (219) so the wifi gets cut off every now and then. Additional pillow upon request would be a great add on too.

First, I would like to say thank you to Daniel. He was one of the most welcoming staff. The hotel is clean and has a lift although you may still need to climb a bit of stairs because the lift is in the middle of the two floors. Breakfast is reasonably good. Both U Bahn and S Bahns are accessible with a block or two of walking. They allow early check in as well as long as the room is ready.

There were no tea or coffee making facilities either in the room or in a lounge.

The hotel actually 'closes' as 22.00hrs and front doors locked. We only arrived at 22.30hr, fortunately our friends were already there so had our room key for us. Not sure what would have happened if our friends had not been there. I imagine we could have contacted the hotel in advance to arrange access. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. There was a continental buffet breakfast, good variety. The location of the hotel was very accessible to all transport around the city. Short walk to both U Bahn, S Bahn and buses. The rooms were basic, warm and comfortable. We are advised that our rooms would not be cleaned each day unless we requested it. As we were only staying 4 nights, 3 days and out all of the day this was fine with us.

The "double room" was just 2 single beds that had been pushed together, which wasn't quite what I imagined when I booked a double room. The bathroom was basic and a bit cramped for the taller person.

The room was clean, the breakfast was enough for us, with both cooked and continental options available. The best part was the staff. They were exceptionally kind, and very knowledgeable about Berlin. They went out of their way to help us plan our visits and get around in the most convenient way. The hotel was located a short walk away from the U-bahn and bus stop, and a 10 minute walk from the S-bahn overground trains.

Two minor issues on scale of things 1. We found everywhere we went (Amsterdam, Germany, Prague, Austria Budapest) the same problem. Hated the two single doonas instead of the shared one on queen size bed. Needed to ask for second pillows for both of us but desperately wished for at least one very firm pillow. Maybe this is a "cultural" thing - in Australia I am unaware of much use of the totally squishy pillows , lacking any firmness!. 2. Given English is a widely used language - very sad there was no English TV eg especially BBC news

Breakfast had a wide array of choices, including hot eggs, poultry sausages, a wonderful selection of German breads, coldcuts, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, cereals, milk, juice, coffee and tea. The location just off the Kurfurstendam at the end of the U1 at Uhlandstrasse made connecting to the rest of the city easy. One can walk a few blocks more to Savigny place and get the S6 line for a fast connection to most of Berlin's train stations and Potsdam. It's a beautiful old building but does have an elevator that stops on the stair landings half way between floors. The staff were very accommodating and I would try to stay there again. It is a good value for the money.
