Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaBecause your room is so close to the restaurant attached all you smell is food. The smell is in the carpet, sheets, and curtains. Took some getting used to. If you choose the option for breakfast with your stay just know it's very minimal. If you're accustomed to an "American" size breakfast.
It is a prime location! Just a short walk to everything the city has to offer. I love having access to a café attached if you need a snack during the day. Cozy little place.

SingaporeMy daughter and I wanted a reasonably priced hotel as we were travelling casually by train on the DBBahn regional 49 euro ticket. From Heidelberg to Wurzburg to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, where we randomly decided to overnight here. The hotel was separated from the confectionery cafe which, by the way, sells lovely cakes and such. The room was clean, beds comfortable, heating adequate, wardrobe space sufficient, a safe, a decent couch, a dresser, adequate lighting, quiet, well located. Decent bathroom with heating, a window, good shower stall and amenities, basic but sufficient. Breakfast was perfect. Typically German. We ended up staying 2 nights. UHL hotel exceeded our expectations for the price we paid, located walking distance to the Marktplatz/Alstadt.

United KingdomIt was a shame the cafe and bar area wasn't open for meals or drinks in the evening, it's really a konditorei rather than a hotel or restaurant, but there is a first class bar a few doors away through the arch. Amenities such as towels a little basic for the price. No kettle or coffee machine.
Great location in the heart of the town, and while a little basic, a comfortable enough upstairs room with a view over red rooftops and forest. Good breakfast if you make the smart choice. They will show you to a designated parking spot very close by.

GermanyPillows were uncomfortable Breakfast wasn’t that great compared to places we’ve stayed in Germany at a similar price point. Hotel didn’t respond to emails through booking.com, so after several email attempts I called them.
Great location! Clean Parking on site, but for an extra fee.

United KingdomWe'd had a very long drive from Italy, and were quite frustrated in our efforts to find this hotel. Our sat nav tried to turn us down so many cobbled streets that were either pedestrian precincts, or one-way. Eventually we found the hotel, expecting there to be a sign saying 'Hotel Uhl' but it says something slightly different, and we couldn't park outside in any case. I parked another 200m down the road (avoiding all the tourists walking down the middle of the road taking photos of the lovely buildings) and walked back to see if it was the right hotel. But then things got better, with a great welcome, and an offer to park in their garage which was in a side street opposite the hotel. Okay, the parking cost 8 euros but it was well worth it !
This is a great hotel for exploring the picturesque town of Rothenburg. We were quite late arriving, and it was only a one night stopover, so our exploring was confined to a couple of hours in the evening, and an hour early morning. The hotel is right in the old town, with lots of beautiful buildings within easy walking distance. Our host was very welcoming, and provided safe parking for us, as well as recommending places to eat in the evening. The hotel has a cafe rather than a restaurant, which is ideal for breakfast and meals through the day, but closes around 8 p.m. Our double room and breakfast were fine.

I love the location, lovely old building with great views over the valley around Rothenburg. Breakfasts were good and you can ask for other items. Being a Konditorei, the cake and coffee selections were great .
