Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesBeautiful lobby and impressive hotel and bar. The rooms were smaller and older than I would have expected based on the chic lobby decor. It was a few blocks away from the heart of La Colonia so it was quiet in the evenings. It was still very easy and felt safe to walk to the many restaurants and shops and to see the historic landmarks in Santo Domingo. The breakfast buffet was on the rooftop of the hotel and very nice with lots of warm heartier as well as healthy and fresh options.

FranceOur room only had a closed high window with little light but it was quiet as we were not street side. It felt a bit stuffy. Also, we found it hard to get advice on bus options and times to head from santo domingo to samana. It would be helpful if the reception had more information available.
Really liked the breakfast on the roof terrace and the great location.

ItalyOur confirmation clearly showed that we had reserved a room with 2 queen beds, and upon check-in they tried to put us in a room with 2 single beds. Eventually, they found a room with one queen bed, which we accepted; however, they did not change the price. Also, we had no hot water in the shower.
The location and security of the hotel was perfect. The rooftop bar and the breakfast selection were also fabulous as were most of the personnel.

Puerto RicoChannels on TV, mostly movies, bad reception, The same two CNN programs in English appeared twice on different channels. Just one French language program a talk show. Should have had a world news BBC, CNN, a lot of local stations, 1 paid religious program. Keep the scrambled eggs warm! No windows in room. No blow dryer. There was construction next door. Outdoor grilling smoke is blown into rooftop restaurant.
The hotel (interior & exterior) and rooms look clean, well-lit, and well-maintained. Within walking distance to what you want to see in Zona Colonial. Food at rooftop restaurant.

Dominican RepublicThey are short staffed, nobody at the main door, it takes too long to do checkin. They charge you extra money for the parking lot. The air conditioner barely works, the bed is not very comfortable. All chairs were dirty when we got to the breakfast we had to wait 15 minutes to get seated. My wife forgot clothes and we came back the next day and the guy in the lobby was very rude and refused to help.
The overall property is well maintained for being such an old building is well kept.
