For a smaller hotel, there really wasn't much to fault. Perhaps a mosquito screen on the window so you can leave it open at night rather than only using aircon in a closed room would be appreciated by some other guests as well.

The staff were fantastic. The welcome package in the room was also a really nice touch. The breakfast also needs a mention, cooked fresh to order it was authentic and delicious.

A must in Santo Domingo. The property is absolutely without a fault, with clean and cozy rooms. We were in the room with the terrace overlooking the street, and loved it there. But even more important than the property itself is the staff! Everyone we had any interactions with was extremely kind and helpful. And Ramon was a perfect host, attending to us the whole stay. It's safe to say he goes above and beyond for his guests. From arranging the transfer from the airport, through the welcome package in the room, accommodating breakfast requests, to helping us with renting a car. If we are ever back in Santo Domingo, we have no doubt about coming back here!

We liked that it was a hidden gem. From the outside you wouldn’t think it was as big and open inside the property. The location is convenient and only two blocks walking to get to el Conde. We went to Alfogatto coffee shop for brunch with family, which is a block away. Jordan who worked the front desk made the experience worth every penny. His superior customer service and knowledge of the area made it easier to get around. He aims to please customers. An employee like him are extremely difficult to find. He genuinely loves his job. Ramon the manager runs a tight ship. He also aims for customer satisfaction and is very specific on how he manages the property. The hotel breakfast was delicious and filling. The pool was well maintained. The entire property is very clean and well kept.

I hated that I could not stay longer!

The staff at this hotel were very helpful. Jordan and Kirsten went above and beyond to help me and took time explaining where everything was located in the area. I was very impressed with these two. They gave me some ideas for where to take my girlfriend out to dinner and other events in the city.

Wow. This hotel goes straight to my top 5 places I've ever stayed. I've traveled a lot over the years, and stayed at cheap hostels, as well as more expensive hotels. I think Villa Colonial is just amazing and unique. First, when I arrived I was offered something to drink, showed around the hotel and told about the architecture and art. When the bossguy (I'm so sorry I can't remember your name!) took me to my room, the first thing I noticed was a clean and fresh smell. Towels and sheets smelled so good, and everything was very clean. There was a tray full of local goods, like rum, nuts, sweets and a welcome note. Over the stay, the room was very cozy and the bed with the big pillows so comfortable. I think I got a different room than I booked (not complaining), and I had my private balcony, which was a cool touch. I was going trough a hard time personally and didn't actually leave the room much, so I'm glad I chose this hotel, because it was the perfect place to just recharge, chill and be in peace. The hotel itself was a beautiful colonial building full of art, plants and nice sofas to sink to during the days. The front door was locked all the time, and I felt very safe. The breakfast was delicious with good coffee, and all the employees were super friendly and helpful. The one day I went out, bossguy gave me good tips where to go to. Altogether he seemed genuinely interested and empathetic about his guests and running the hotel. You are a gem, thank you!

From the welcome at the door from Ramon, the welcome beverage. Everything was amazing from top top bottom..all that you laid your eyes on. The staff was super helpful, decor amazing and unique. 3/4 course breakfast was delicious! Great location. I will definitely stay again.

Stylish, bohemian chic hotel well-located in the historic center of the Santo Domingo. The staff and owners were friendly, helpful and welcoming. One of the best breakfasts that I have ever had. Comfortable bed and beautiful interior garden. We really enjoyed our stay!
