Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeThe hammock in my room had a loose bolt and I didn't trust using it. Lukewarm water, but you don't need hot water here. It cost me $80/night which is high. BUT I also stayed in a $25/hostal in town with the same proximity to town main points and heres what I experienced as different... the hostel was loud and the windows were thin. The ac did not work, I has to ask for a fan, not the same. The bed at the hostel was less comfortable and the linens were cheap. Breakfast not included, no hell booking tours. If those differences are worth an extra $55/night (they are for me usually but depends on how long I'm traveling!), then go to Capitan Max's.
It's soooo quiet which is a fantastic respite in South America. The air conditioning is powerful, a break from the equatorial heat. The location is perfect, on a side street but within less than a clock of a main intersection and only a few more blocks to the Malecon or center of town as it were. There's Max is pretty much always present and is happy to help with tours! He also allows you to leave luggage if your room isn't ready here or at your next stop.

GermanyWe liked everything, a very good family-run hotel. We particularly liked attention to details, our room was pre-airconditioned, there is cleaned water prepared at sink, there are coffee, water and bananas in main area. Hosts are very friendly and helped us with everything. Bed and shower are also very good. Silent and cleaned aircon.

United KingdomNothing all was good.
Great location, nice small clean B&B all on one floor. Lots of hot water and good airconditioning in our room. Drinking water, a pot of Coffee and Fruit were made available all day, which was a nice touch. Must say, the place is run by a lovely host. He cooked us a lovely breakfast, we would stay here again, you won't be disappointed.

United States of AmericaProperty was in a great location, right off the main street so close by everything but quiet. The bed/bedding were super comfortable (great mattress!!), the amenities were great (filtered water, breakfast, etc.), and we even got help with planning a last minute tour! Great stay here. Really enjoyed and would recommend.

United States of AmericaCapitan Max was wonderful, great location, and very clean. We last minute shortened our 5 day stay to a 2 day stay when we decided to go to another island which they were extremely accommodating about. We had a wonderful breakfast and the day we left early for the ferry there was cereal/fruit/toast/coffee. The rooms are private and spacious. We were helped with room towels, booking a ferry, etc. We have stayed in three places on Santa Cruz with Capitan Max being the best!

United KingdomOur stay at Capitan Max B&B exceeded all expectations. Our host was superd and more than helpful throughout our stay. We were diving for 5 days and up early but breakfast was always ready earlier than we were. He provided us with recommendations on where to eat and things not to miss out on and on the whole was just a wonderful person. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here to anyone wanting a cosy b&b right off the main strip of shops and restaurants with spacious rooms and lovely staff.

This b&b is the perfect place to stay, walkable to the port, as well as good cafes, bars and restaurants in the centre of Santa Cruz. It had everything we needed. Max was a great host providing us with location recommendations, and cooked us delicious scrambled eggs each morning - when we had early boat tours he kindly provided breakfast earlier than the scheduled time. Lourdes was also very helpful in organising day tours for us to Isabela and North Seymour which we really enjoyed. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking to explore the Galápagos without the expense of a cruise!

AustraliaVery central. Very clean. The owner couldn't do enough for you. The room was comfortable with a nice bathroom. It was good value. It didn't have a terrace or outside communal area, but when you are out all day exploring the beautiful Galapagos Islands, why would you need one. A good place to come back after a day out to get ready for your next day of adventures.
