At this price range, a pool would be nice. There's no beach nearby. Some attempt at decoration would be welcome. The bed in my first room was wonderful. The bed in my second room was hard. There were ants everywhere. Not hordes of them, but always present. (There were also little lizards to eat the ants.)

Breakfast was good. Grounds were very nice. Location was convenient, with a short ride to the center of town. The rooms are basically undecorated, but reasonably furnished. The hot water was available quickly. The staff were great. It was quiet, except for one obnoxious egomaniac.

A bit far from the beach and the port in comparison to others, but still no more than a 15 min walk.

Bed was super comfy and the staff was very friendly and efficient! The place is really just 3-4 blocks away from the most commercial district (shops and restaurants) in Puerto Ayora.

A really nice and familiar place to Stay. You have ~10 min by walking from the Sea (Center). Its a nice and quiet Place to Stay. The Breakfast was amazing! Specially the Garden was also amazing.

We pretty much like to everything, except as we outlined above. There was really nothing that we didn’t like, and we think that anybody who stays here will be quite happy.

This was a very nice place, no more than 5 to 8 minute walk from just about anywhere you would want to go in Puerto Ayora. Our first room was a bit on the small side for us, and also on the first floor. We weren’t very happy with it because anyone who wanted to could look in, sonwe couldn’t leave the windows open at night, which we wanted to do because neither of us like the air conditioning. We asked to be changed to an upstairs room, and they were more than happy to accommodate us. The new room was very large, and we could leave the windows open and not use the air conditioning. The grounds are very nice, the staff is very helpful, breakfast was decent. It’s not a luxury accommodation, but it is a very nice accommodation, and we were very happy to stay there.

This is a lovely, family-run hotel. It is right in the heart of things (restaurants, shops, sights), but is extremely quiet. Breakfast is excellent. The bed is comfortable. It was pretty hot during my visit but the air conditioner kept the room at a very comfortable temperature. I recommend this hotel t5o other travelers and if I were to return to Puerto Ayora I would stay here again.

I liked the environment of the place, the owner is a lovely old lady who tries to keep the guests always happy. The breakfast is simple but nice and if you have a tour early in the morning they can also prepare it in advance.

Lava House is family owned and all the family members were so warm and gracious and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel is a short walking distance to the main street.

It would be so fine if breakfast was offered longer than 0700-0830. I am not known for early rising, and even if breakfast could be extended until 0900 it would help people like me.

Lava House is just a 5 minute walk from the malecon. You will find yourself in a clean and spacious room centered around a lovely garden, with a sassy little Boston Terrier named Lava running around keeping everything in check. And you will be treated to a delightful (and very complete) breakfast on their raised wooden terrace overlooking the garden. I stayed here three nights but wish I had the forethought to book a longer stay. Highly recommended!

Noisy during the night with barking dogs. Water temp in shower is cold or very hot. Lack if choice with breakfast. Water switched off without warning one day while repairs carried out.

The staff are lovely it is very clean and in good location. Comfortable beds. Sadly very noisy with student groups, barking dogs during the night and workmen noise when fixing water and air con next to my room. Ear plugs didn't help .Breakfast really basic with little to no variety. The breakfast area is not enclosed and noise from 6.30 am.
