Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

LatviaThe mosquito nets could be on the windows, too, not only the doors. The house is very small and heats up a lot, so we had to choose to sleep in hot room or to open windows and feed mosquitoes. 😅 Wi-fi is very slow. Do not attempt connecting with more than one device at the same time. Mobile data usage also isn't an option, the signal is pretty bad in this location. Motivates to enjoy the nature more and set the devices aside. 😊
Good communication with the owners, clear instructions on where to get the key etc. As an introvert, I highly appreciate the fact that no physical check-in was necessary. Pet friendly - we were traveling with our dog to a nearby competition, had no problems whatsoever. The cottage was clean, all necessary kitchen equipment was there to cook a meal, as well as sets of towels for shower. Beautiful garden, but the fence was not all around the property - keep that in mind if traveling with dogs, better to keep them on leash. Stores and cafes nearby, few min walk from the location.

FinlandThe floor was not flat, we even rolled a drink bottle under the bed and then it rolled back. The cottage needs to be levelled as it is noticable.
The location suited our needs. Good communication with the renter. Easy to get keys so simple check in / check out. We could see the river from our windows so for us we saw kayakers going by due to a race happening at the time.

EstoniaIn the evening our neighbors were loud. We didn't talk to them, just closed the window.
The house is cozy. The surrounding is beautiful. The beds were super soft, we slept like babies.

EstoniaThe main beds in the room were too soft for us, so we moved onto the couch.
Türi is a small town with not so many accommodation options, so we were very lucky to discover MaaRitza cottages. They give you a separate house which is small, but has everything you need -- a bathroom, a kitchenette, clean sheets, etc. It was very quiet and the lake is just a 100m walk away. The complex also has a nice yard where you can have your dinner, let the kids play. etc.

EstoniaPictures seemed to be tuned - it looks a lot bigger and brighter than it is in real life. Dishes and microwave were not clean.
Service was good and handing over the keys as well. Beds were comfortable. It was convenient to move between the room and the car.

EstoniaWe attended a wedding near by and booked two rooms- a suite and a cottage, so our babysitter could stay there with our kids (3year old and a 1-month old baby). When arrived to the accomotation the owner welcomed us in front of the suite and as I asked if I was in the right place and if It's the way to the suite, she sent us to the cottage and if I asked again about the suite she answered that kids are not allowed in to the suite. I was confused and surprised, and needed clearification and asked why we can't decided ourselves where our kids sleep and then the politeness and reasonable conversation was lost by the owner. I was shocked and my husband even got insulted when he tried to ask a question and the owner told him to shut up (her words in estonian Jääge vait!) and showed the way to the cottage. We have travelled the world, stayed in places that cost 5€ per person and never seen a welcome so rude! And the dissapointment is even worse because we have never stayed in the accomotation so near to our home (1h drive). We would never have paid extra if we would have known, that our kids can't use the suite and this would not have been a problem if we would have been explained calmly and respectfully, we are reasonable people. We came from the wedding in the middle of the night and left in the morning and as there was no polite communication, the issue stayed unsolved. This is the worst review I have written about an accomotation and I feel sorry that this is in my home country.

EstoniaKIDS ARE NOT WELCOME in suite and we found out in the most unconvinient way.
Only accomotation in the area. The rooms were OK and this review would have been a lot different if we would not have experienced so emotional encounter, because the room and the house were all nice- warm water, working toilet, kettle and even coffee.

EstoniaIf you're driving a bit bigger car then there's no way you'll be able to fit it behind the fence where it's meant to be parked. When booking your stay, there are only pictures of colorful small cottages up in their accommodation description and therefore we thought that we'll be staying in one of those but in reality the one that has a double bed is part of a bigger house. A bit disturbing that you can hear people moving around almost as if they were in the same apartment with you. For us it was a very impromptu one night stay but if I were to stay there on a holiday then I would be a bit disappointed.. although the interior was so scattered and weird that it almost felt cool, then the yard was disgusting. There was weird stuff laying around that looked like construction waste.
Bed was very comfortable, clean sheets and towels. Interior is very hectic, lots of weird knick-knacks laying around at the apartment and the more you look at them, the more it feels like they fit.
