Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA bottle of water as a welcome in the room would have been nice. We did ask however and the staff did kindly give us two cartons. Nit picking really
A comfortable well placed hotel near Attocha station and Retiro park. Our room was quiet at the rear of the hotel and well fitted. A good selection at breakfast and my request for gluten free bread was dealt with without any fuss.

SpainAir-con very noisy and limited control options. Ironing services provided but the its not immediate, not sure if anyone will wait 12 hours for a returned ironed garment. An ironing room could be a better option if hotel doesn't provide guests rooms with irons?
Excellent location. Hotel is a little old but very clean & generous size room. Comfy beds and pillows. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Reception was busy but very helpful and calm under stress. Breakfast was good.

NetherlandsQuite outdated furniture, no carpet, no slippers.
The received room was on 6th floor, with a minibar in the room with water, soda and juice (for a certain price). Both the room and the bathroom were spacious and clean. The hotel is close to the central station. The bed was also big and comfortable.

AustraliaOn a busy road, so could be noisy if you have a room facing the Main Street. We had a room at the back which was very quiet. It made no difference to our comfort, but the corridors of the hotel have not been renovated for some time and look very old and dated Breakfast is in a large mezzanine area and is very noisy and busy at peak times
The hotel rooms were a good size and comfortable, and only a short walk from Atocha Rail station, with metro links to the airport Impressive foyer area with chandeliers Retiro Park is close by and a lovely place to enjoy or get active in

ItalyI found it a bit expensive, but it is in a very central position. The breakfast is also a bit expensive. WiFi did not work well in my room. It was good for staying a couple of days but perhaps I would find something different for a longer stay.
Very good location, close to the Atocha train station and close to the El Retiro park. In general it is quite close also to the Prado museum and the rest of the touristic area. The staff was friendly. I found it a bit expensive, but the staying was good.

PortugalThe beds and pillows could be more comfortable, but I am only pointing this because it is classified as a 4 star hotel.
Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was perfect for our family and the location allowed to walk everywhere at the centre. Breakfast with many and tasty options. A plus: our son forgot a teddy at the room and we arranged a pickup serviced that was kindly handled by the hotel staff

United KingdomThe decor is a bit tired, but for the price can't complain. The wifi was quite convoluted to connect to and was a bit slow. A little out of the way, but a shortish walk to the metro gets you everywhere (incl. airport).
Great value and at the last minute. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was exactly as described and had all that you required.
