Couldn't control,noise levels outside in early hrs

Struggled a bit to get the temp right with the aircon. Shower was all black tiled and no internal light, so very dark. Slightly dodgy power sockets meant our phone charger kept switching off if you accidentally nudged it. No USB charging in the room.

Excellent location in easy walking distance of all the main sites. Situated by a nice square and surrounded by bars and restaurants. But still reasonably quiet at night. Room was a decent size for a city hotel. Comfy bed. Reception staff all very good and helpful. Would stay here again.

We had to ask for the jacuzzi to be cleaned - in fairness as soon as we asked it was done but it would have been nice if it had been cleaned in advance. Probably picky but at that price, we didn’t really expect instant coffee in sachets!

Excellent location, a few minutes walk from the Prado, Plaza Mayor and other sights. Staff very friendly. Excellent room with lovely terrace and jacuzzi - but see below

The bathroom was a bit small.

The location of the hotel was really great, we had access to plenty of restaurants nearby. The rooms were very comfortable, and we had access to a nice balcony. The breakfast was good as well, a nice buffet with a lot of choices!

Aware that hotel rooms designed with 'integrated' bathroom - we are not keen on this type of layout as it does not give much privacy. However, were not expecting the shower cubicle to be so dark! All black tiles from floor to ceiling .... had to leave the shower door open to have some light .... not ideal :(

Opted for this hotel because of its location next to Santa Ana Square where we wanted to be in order to explore more around this area since our last visit to Madrid. Very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable staff available at all times. Also opted for exterior room and lucky to be on second floor overlooking Plaza St Ana. Great choice at breakfast served from 7am to 12 noon. Buffet style with wide range of items including cooked i.e. scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon and beans (Spanish style). Spoilt for choice with so many tapas bars, restaurants, cafes and shops next to and very near the hotel. Had booked a taxi for our arrival from airport to hotel but took the express airport bus 203 back to the airport as bus stop just 20 minutes' walk away from the hotel to Plaza de Cibeles.

The toilet room is a bit tight, and an eventual sewer smell is coming from there, so we left the window open while we were out to clear the air.

The location, value for money and staff are great. Every room feels comfy. We had the chance to see a couple of them, and they're very well-decorated and designed.

If I had to point out something, I would probably say the lobby could have a better decoration and usage of the space.

I had a wonderful experience at Room Mate Alicia. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful going above and beyond when my companion and I fell ill by delivering our needs promptly. The hotel's prime location, combined with spacious rooms, a comfortable bed, and pillows, made our stay enjoyable. The shower was great, and overall, it offered excellent value for money. The good amenities further enhanced our positive impression of Room Mate Alicia.

Lack of privacy with the toilets Little hiccup with a Flamenco show we asked twice to book to the front desk girl and we weren’t on the list when we showed up. Fortunately we were in advance and there were still spots available.
