To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. IrelandThe apartment is managed by a hotel 1/2 a mile away so you have to walk over to reception for any issues. They don't seem interested in the apartments, just the hotel and are not easy to deal with. The safe wasn't working (THE BATTERY WAS GONE AND MAINTENANCE HAD TO CHANGE IT, NOT THAT I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO USE IT AS PER HOTEL'S RESPONSE TO MY REVIEW, EXPECTED THOUGH AS THAT WAS THE ATTITUDE THROUOUT MY STAY), the iron didn't work (STOPPED WORKING ON DAY TWO, LUCKY I HAD MY OWN WITH ME), we had no kettle, very little cooking facilities e.g. a microwave without a microwavable container. The apartment is not serviced so the one bath towel you have on arrival has to do for your entire stay. No cleaning is done either even in the communal areas. We got locked out of the apartment and I was told it was because I had the card next to my phone, ended up being the battery in the door, that took two visits to the hotel and an irate phone call. Poor customer service but the apartment itself is in a good location. However I would not stay there again. They also entered our apartment when we were not there. I didn't know why or what it was for but I had given up communicating with them at that stage, it was pointless.

IrelandKitchen was poor. No toaster or iron on arrival. Had to request both. No facility to make tea or coffee- no kettle- asked reception for one but was refused. No soap for bathroom . Bathroom was old and grubby. Badly needs updating. Cleanliness was only ok. Rude receptionist was refusing to send a toaster and iron when we requested it even though I explained these were listed as facilities on booking.com. She didn’t seem to be aware and was very rude. However I firmly explained these were listed and they were then sent over.
Location excellent. Air con excellent.

SpainThe property is clearly not 82sq meters we only booked this because of its size. The apartment was filthy and by no means achieved anywhere near the quoted ‘COVID-19’ requirements. The apartment was full of flies and various other insects. My wife used the supplied hairdryer which almost set fire to her hair due the the flames coming out of it - absolutely no health and safety in place. The microwave had food in it and the cutlery and crockery was disgusting. We complained to the management of the apartment and requested a refund - they offered 2 more nights in the same apartment! Incredibly poor service and with no idea of customer service. My wife and I are avid travellers and this is the first time in our 15 year plus Booking.com ‘career’ that we’ve placed such a bad review. I would not go anywhere near this company.
Absolutely nothing . This is the worst apartment I’ve ever stayed in with Booking.Com. The quoted size of the apartment is untrue, the apartment was filthy and obviously had not been cleaned prior to our visit. We met with the management to complain, she told us to be there the next day at 11.00 and never arrived - she obviously had no intention of meeting us as her staff told us she wouldn’t be at work until 13.00.

No spare sheets for the double bed- again unacceptable for a 17 night stay.Access to English speaking TV channels would be expected at the price paid. Very uncomfortable settee
