Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceSmall bathroom, very uncomfortable bed, light next to my bed wasnt working. when i left it took me 10min to open my locker that was stuck.. Reception not open 24/24 but its because of covid 19 (I think the hostel cant pay for the staff to be here 24/24). A lot of kids during my staying it was quiet noisy at night, kids running, baby crying and a couple having an argument in other bedrooms at 1am... I didnt sleep very well during my staying
The staff at the reception was very helpful and gave me many advices about what to do in Barcelona + a map of the city with annotations. Bathroom for women and bathroom for men. Rooftop and living room are quiet nice places. It was warm in the hostel. Places to hang your clothes in the room.

NetherlandsThe mattresses in beds were in a terrible condition, deep pockets, ups and downs in the foam. The lift was switched off at 10pm which is annoying to climb up the stairs to top floors.
Generally, value for money, except for the bad condition of bed mattresses.

BrazilWe,re robbed in our room. We left our bag outside the locker for a couple of minutes, then when we came back, someone had opened the backpack.
The girl whi welcomed us was very kind and friendly. She gave us a lot of information and support. Also, the location was very good, near to the historical area and subway

VietnamOur room was leaking on the first day because of the rain. They changed the room for us on the next day. In general, the room is smaller than we thought and it's not comfortable if you stay in the full room
Great location!!! The staffs are nice and helpful. The shared bathroom is quite clean.

GreeceI didn't like much that the room had a lot of dust and so did the blankets and pillows which were a little dirty and in general the room was small for 6 people to live and the corridor was quite narrow.Another inconvenience was that there were only two bathrooms in our floor, one for the men and one for the women but they were very easily occupied so we had to go to the bathroom of the upper floor to use the bathroom.
I liked the fact that they put us all the group of 6 people that we were travelling alltogether in a 6-bed dorm instead of an 8-bed dorm that we had booked at first. That gave us the space and comfort to be alltogether and feel safe. I also loved the location of the hostel which was near to metro station and also near to Las Ramblas and El Gotico and all the best restaurants for tapas, paella and take-away stores for pizza, sandwich or falafel. It was also very near to the vast majority of clubs and bars in Raval where you could access on foot and this was cool!😉The staff was extremely polite and helpful and very easygoing and that is true for both the people on the reception and for the cleaners that they were cleaning the shared spaces of hostel regularly every morning.

SpainEverything was great, nothing negative to say
The kitchen in the hostel has everything you need to cook, in addition, there is a kind of rooftop terrace with some sofas to spend time with your friends. But the best thing was that I lost my key and they were so kind that they gave me a new one free of charge.

ColombiaThe walls were very thin so at nights we could here the guests in the other room being rowdy. Rowdy bunch of boys. Also, wished there were at least three bathrooms on each floor.
The location was great, located in a very convenient area. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I accidentally left my retainer when I checked out and they mailed it to me. Much appreciated!!!

Czech RepublicI didn't check before coming (so it was my fault) but the house main door and the entrance hall is too narrow for a sport pushchair (Thule) and then it is necessary to climb to the first floor to get into the elevator. The kitchen cabinet had a hole into the house central shaft and there was a mouse inside with poops and also a few cockroaches running...
Spacious rooms. Location close to La Rambla and La Boqueria.

GermanyThe air condition was WAY to cold and even after I asked the stuff to turn it down, it was still a freezer. I was colder in that night than on my whole 3 weeks trip of Europe! Now I feel sick. That is the biggest minus possible to get!
