Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsEverything was of high quality and clearly purchased with care. We found the beds quite hard, but that may be due to our personal preference. Kitchen utensils were moderate, but sufficient to prepare your own dishes.
After opening the gate you are surprised by the beauty of estate Tomaren. In the middle of the barren, volcanic landscape, an oasis has been created with organic forms of beautiful buildings, vegetation, landscaping, ornaments. With a natural pit in the middle with a pool, jacuzzi and bathhouse beautifully situated in it. Pepi, our host, gave us a warm welcome and was available 7/24 for any conceivable question.

NetherlandsNothing to mention here.
Me and my partner had a lovely stay at Finca Tomaren. The Finca is peacefull and beautifull. Perfect base camp for a romantic get away. Also all the main attractions on the island are close by (+/- 15 min drive). Pepi is such a great host and really makes an effort to make you feel comfortable. He made our stay even better. :) At Finca Tomaren you can really de-stress and enjoy your holiday.

BelgiumThe kitchen could be modernized, and more utensils and dishes would be beneficial. However, we've become so familiar with the hotel staff that we know there are exciting plans to enhance the apartments' comfort. We look forward to returning and experiencing the improved facilities. Best wishes for the ongoing upgrades!
My boyfriend and I had an incredible stay at Casa Tomaren! Peppi, the staff member, welcomed us warmly and was genuinely professional and friendly. His helpful tips and assistance with our requests made our experience memorable. The place is charming and peaceful, and we appreciated the privacy of the apartment. Convenient for exploring the area with our own car. Highly recommend! We will come back for sure in the future.

United KingdomWe would have liked the option of breakfast in a communal space or even a breakfast pack delivered to our room. Might be something for the management to consider offering.
The peaceful location and communication from staff from arrival at the airport to departure was excellent.

United KingdomSometimes felt like I was the only person there - no other guests or staff after about midday. But had emergency numbers etc. in case of emergency.
Quiet, remote, unique decor, pool and staff were very friendly. Not commercial - rustic charm.

FranceThe lack of cleanliness. The cleaning leady doesnt clean the floors, and there is a lot of dust and spiderwebs everywhere. She came once and just done our bed. We felt a little sad because we had the poorest room of the entire resort. (While there was no one else) We came during the low season, the lights were not even on for us.
The location, the authenticity, the kindness of the staff.

United KingdomWe hated the fact that there wasn't a single staff member ever to be found for the entire trip. We were left waiting for over 20minutes in the scorching sun with baggage to be able to check in. Our flight was delayed for a short period of time (meaning we reached the hotel 1hr after we stated but still well within their check in times - check in starts at 1pm and we arrived at 2pm), we then made our way to reception for the door to be locked, we called the number stated on the door and the said they would be right out to assist us with check-in, 20minutes later... I had to call again and only 5-10mins after that did someone arrive. This lady did not apologise and instead made us feel as though it was our fault that our flight was delayed. She didn't answer the questions or conversation and instead just kept staring and it was rather creepy. Then when it came to check-out.... yet again, no one to be seen and the reception door was locked. I then found a side door to the reception and made my way inside where there was no one to be seen... I ended up leaving the room key on the desk and sending the hotel a picture of this via Whatsapp. The property was incredibly run down and in all honestly I am unsure if I would choose to stay here again as they didn't even serve any drinks or food, or give us any help or guidance on what was around the area etc. Also, the swimming pool area is only open from 10am to 6pm but not stated anywhere online and proved to be quite a disappointment as it's not like they need staff to be open as there is no lifeguard or bar/food etc.
We enjoyed the fact that even though the property was fully booked, you rarely saw another person at the resort. Therefore, giving a vibe of peacefulness. We enjoyed the fact that the property was kept with a traditional, rustic design. We liked that the location was in the middle of the island, this meant that we could travel everywhere via car without it being too far.

NetherlandsI write this only because there is a question about what we didn't like, so it's really not a critic or big deal, more like something to be ware of: the villa we had is built in old traditinal style so with thick walls and design to keep the warmth and the sun out. As a result the kitchen was a bit 'dark' there was not a lot of natural light to see what you were cooking and because the lights in the kitchen didn't work we had to use a side lamp from the living room. We could have asked the staff to fix the lights but we didn't bother.
Amazing place. attention for details, very nice decoration inside, plenty of space, very luxurious feeling, pool and gardens are amazing, jacuzzi is great, you have a lot op privacy

BelgiumNothing in particular to mention.
Azian atmosphere in Lanzarote. The bungalos all have their little garden or terrasse. It is a quiet place, centrally located on the island. Know that there is no restaurant nor breakfast on site. You need a car to do your shopping. The bungalos are cleaned every other day. The pool is fantastic. Ideal location for families and hikers.

United KingdomThey still aren’t serving breakfast because of Covid which is a shame as everywhere else is. The staff were no where to be seen and the house although surface level clean e.g. fresh beds and bathroom could really do with a deep clean - we lost something and had to search behind sofas etc. and it was filthy! Kitchen was fine for the three of us but our house fit 6 and wouldn’t have been sufficient if cooking for 6 people. It’s very remote so you really are on your own and have to bring all your supplies - but this is also part of the charm, very far removed from touristy lanzarote
Casa tomaren was beautiful and much bigger than it looked in the pictures. The private garden with the pool being separate was perfect for us and our toddler. It was also well equipped with cot, high chair and stair gates

Felt welcomed from the start, just like being at home. Breakfasts delicious, all freshly prepared from high quality produce. We cannot rate our stay highly enough. A must hotel for the discerning visitor to Lanzarote. Showcases the best the island has to offer.
