Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Gran Hotel Victoria in Santander City, North of Spain, has beautiful views of the" Sardinero" Beach from every verandah. Beds are comfortable and the breakfast is great! The Hotel gives you a very warm welcome.

This is for booking.com, rather than any hotel. The cost of 20€ per night for parking should be made clear by booking.com Also please make clear in all hotel information whether parking is actually available, or dependent on finding a parking space in the streets nearby. It would save last minute disappointments and stress trying to find parking in unfamiliar towns at the end of a long journey.
Spacious room, comfortable beds, large balcony overlooking the garden. Good evening meal and breakfast. Close to the beach and shops. Underground parking.

Nice spacious room. Very clean. Staff were exceptional , very friendly welcoming and helpful. The hotel is located in the middle of lots of traditional bars and restaurants. Lots to do . The palace is a short walk away and the scenery is fabulous. Also the bar is a nice place to relax after a good walk.We had a sea view with a wrap around balcony. I'd highly recommend.

Amazing hotel, easy parking either in the quiet road outside or in the underground car park. The room was big with plenty of windows and a balcony with sea views. Within a few minutes easy walk of the beautiful beaches, restaurants, castle etc. As it’s a 4 star hotel we were pleasantly surprised at the reasonable prices of drinks, coffee etc. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Our swipe card didn’t work on a few occasions. The safety box in the room didn’t work either. We did get the hotel staff to check it but still had problem when they left. Only issue was there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom.
The hotel and staff were great. Very close to the sea, bars and restaurants. A 20 min walk into town.

Too much noise from other rooms, so much so I thought someone had come into our room and was talking on his phone. Furniture scraping on the floor above.

Lovely efficient staff - room was massive for the price and had a terrace. I was solo and only for one night so couldn't really take time and settle in, but would be nice for a couple as there was a big luxury bathroom, terrace, etc, and next to the beach. Breakfast was good value and included bacon and eggs, quince, cheese, pastries, and yoghurts ( I ate loads as I arrived too late for dinner).

We found the restaurant a little bit on the cold side, while eating, and the restaurant would have been more comfortable if it was a little bit warmer. This is the only thing we did not like, the cold.
Our room was excellent, clean with a spotless bathroom. We had a garden view but, also could see the sea and had a fantastic view of the surrounding area. The hotel has a fantastic location and the surrounding area is beautiful, plenty to see and do, and a great place to walk. The restaurant staff were fantastic, warm and friendly. The food exceeded all expectations, it was full of flavour, delicious and cooked to perfection. Would also like to say the waiter who served us was wonderful and helpful, the wine we requested was unavailable, he made a fantastic suggestion and the wine was fabulous. Thank you so much.
