Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing it is an amazing place
Beautiful authentic hotel with buckets of character and charm - set within a banana plantation and beautiful grounds with many different flowers and plants - easy walking distance to the sea and the small town - the pool was actually warm enough to swim in and a highlight for me. The meals were delicious - we were there over valentine’s and particularly enjoyed the valentine dinner that was arranged for the guests , very thoughtful and well done.

United KingdomWe didn’t!
The hotel is within a 5 minute walk of the town’s promenade with its bars and restaurants and is therefore ideally located. The beach is currently a 25 minute drive away, as the local roads are closed for repairs. Our large room was spacious with equally large en suite. The spa offered extremely good levels of massage. The breakfast and dinner offerings were comprehensive and supported by very friendly and professional staff. Would recommend staying here.

SwedenThe buildings - interior and exterior - are beautiful. Every detail is painted in wonderful colours. You live in a botanical garden! There is birdsong, otherwise it is quiet. Everything makes you smile! Short walk to the beach, short walk to Tazacorte town. This is one of the best (two or three) hotels i have stayed in.

United Kingdom-1) Some of the lower spec rooms are a little dingy, with very poor outlook onto quite a close wall. I recommend checking this carefully before booking (see comments above about top suite and garden rooms). -2) For some obscure reason they now close their bar in the evenings. There is nowhere to relax with a drink after dinner. Guests now either have to walk up into town or go to bed early. Big mistake by management, and not what one expects from a luxury hotel. -3) The quality of service and efficiency of the restaurant does not match the very high standards of the hotel. Both the kitchen and front of house servers are badly inconsistent, and sometimes seriously chaotic. -4) Beautifully furnished, high quality rooms are slightly let down by a plastic shower curtain and no tea making facilities. -5) Most sunbeds round the pool are at least partly shaded. There are a few for sun lovers, but be warned this hotel caters for a predominantly German clientele and therefore their traditional (infamous) morning "towels on sunbeds" fiasco is often an issue! The hotel do not appear to discourage this.
+1) Superb, opulent, slightly quirky decor and ambiance. All areas and rooms are overflowing with good quality very flamboyant antiques and works of art. An atmosphere of olde worlde luxury throughout. +2) Location is ideal - on the sunnier and less commercialised side of the island. Just a 5 minute drive down to the port, and a 5 minute stroll up into the town. +3) The grounds are beautifully and cleverly laid out as gorgeous, colourful sub-tropical gardens. Spotlessly clean, very well-maintained, and atmospherically lit at night. Many of the rooms look out over the gardens, and some have a small terrace area. +4) The top suite is more expensive, but absolutely worth the extra (see photos with red walls). It is really absolutely huge, with its own massive dining room, all luxuriously furnished and appointed fine antiques and paintings. Best of all, this is the only room with a sea view, and has a very large private balcony. +5) The pool area is attractive and well-maintained, surrounded by plants, flowers and trees. There are normally plenty of sunbeds in the shade, but for sun lovers see negative comments below. +6) Breakfasts are very good, including such friendly service. +7) All staff are really very good indeed, and so friendly - from the excellent manager, through all levels right down to housekeeping. They obviously take recruitment and training very seriously. English is spoken well by all customer-facing staff.

United KingdomStunningly beautiful hotel - both internal decor and botanic garden. Our bedroom was also beautiful with excellent features. We would particularly like to thank the people at reception for allowing us to access our room early after we had been evacuated from where we had been staying because of the wild fire. The breakfast was also superb.

BelgiumI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Hacienda de Abajo and I have to say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From start to finish, the level of service and attention to detail was truly exceptional. If you're looking for a peaceful and serene retreat away from the hustle of everyday life, then this is the perfect place for you. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly and professional staff who went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The check-in process was seamless and efficient, and I was delighted to find that my room was spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed. The hotel is situated in the quiet town of Tazacorte and surrounded by a beautiful botanical garden, which makes it the perfect place to unwind and relax. I enjoyed spending time on my balcony, listening to the birds chirping and feeling the gentle breeze. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's restaurant 'El sitio'. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. I enjoyed a variety of dishes, all of which were expertly prepared and presented. Overall, I cannot recommend the this hotel highly enough. The staff, facilities, and location were all outstanding, and I can't wait to return for another visit. If you're looking for a truly authentic and memorable hotel experience, this is the place to stay!
