Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandI was not able to order breakfast. Tried to call and write the receptionist via booking in the evening, then called in the morning. Both times phone was off.
Amazing design, interior is great, just in the old center, parking is available not far away from the property.

CanadaWhile the room is nice, it is a bit odd to have the the shower stall and bathroom cabinet and sink built right into the room. However, I understand it would have been difficult to build in a modern ensuite bathroom. The breakfast was perhaps good for people who eat meat, eggs and dairy products, but for vegans it was really lacking. It would be good to have more choices such as sliced fruits or fresh fruit salad, avocado, sliced tomatoes, lettuce, vegan spreads or cheese, maybe potatoes. Also, although this is no way the fault of the hotel I would have liked to have known beforehand that one needs a car in Begur. I came by bus, and because of chronic problems due to an old fracture and surgery to my right leg there was no way I could walk all the way down the hill to the beaches and back. I had to take the bus, but summer beach bus service to two local beaches ended on my third day. Taxis are very expensive on the Costa Brava unfortunately.
The room was lovely and I liked the Catalonian tile floors. It would have been more pleasant still if it were a bit larger and had a balcony, but the garden patio is nice. The house is beautiful. It's mainly quiet, but sometimes the cars driving by and the people walking up from or down to the parking lot could be a bit noisy. I liked the kitchen and lounge area. Leaving little croissants for the guests on the table is a nice touch.

United KingdomI'm not sure if it was the cleaning products but there was a strange, quite strong, sweet smell in the room which only went away when we opened the windows. It wasn't so much of an issue that it ruined our stay, but it might be worth a look for the staff.
The staff were very helpful when I had a problem with my booking. The hotel itself is in a great location, right next to the centre of town, so not loud but not secluded. It's a beautiful building and has been decorated wonderfully. The room was very comfortable, although may not suit everyone as the shower was in the room. We did not have an issue with that 😊 Definitely would stay again, thanks for a wonderful trip!

DenmarkWe weren’t lucky enough to get a double bed as it is upon ability when you do the check in. Even though the two beds put together was good, you can still feel the division. If you looking to have some privacy while taking a shower, this room is not the best choice for you.
The staff was great and very helpful. The breakfast it’s really good for the value. The location is fantastic, close enough to the main restaurants and shops but also quiet in the night. The great benefit of staying at the hotel are the transfers to the beach, the drivers goes beyond to help find the best spots.

United KingdomThere were two things which could be improved: the AC is very loud so not great as you can hear it all night and the mini fridge in the room doesn't keep things cold at all. I'd say these appliances can be easily upgraded. And just two more suggestions. I'd seen people eating lunch/breakfast in the courtyard so maybe consider offering some cutlery where you have the coffee station and also maybe some fruits instead of only pastries for breakfast? Just as a recommendation as some people might have allergies etc
The place is very charming, in an old building. Big bed, good shower. The size of the room is also very decent and you have enough space. Has AC which helps with the heat, also a mini fridge. Downstairs you have coffee and in the morning you get some pastries which is a nice touch. The staff is super helpful, and always there to assist. Great customer service! They also offer free shuttles to the beaches, just make sure to book with reception first. You also get maps, and schedules of buses and basically everything you need to know about Begur and the area from reception. Honestly the staff made a big difference in this hotel. They also helped us book a taxi back to the airport. Everyone went about and beyond. I'd stay here again for sure!!

IrelandEntrance into the building was beside our bedroom door, which meant the glass door was very loud and noisy. We had to check in and check out of another hotel up the road as Hotel Hanoi does not have a reception.
Location was good. Shutters on the windows meant it stayed super dark for sleeping. Shower was very good and soaps provided were nice. Staff were friendly and provided an iron when needed and assisted in booking a taxi.

United StatesThe A/C was fixed at 26 C, much too warm for July. There was only one extra outlet in the room, and there wasn't an in room safe. Too many stairs for some people.
Loads of character and history, great location, high ceilings, gorgeous view, lovely common areas, friendly, helpful staff.

CanadaAfter booking a room at Hotel Hanoi, a few hours later got an email saying we had to check into their sister hotel Petit Convent as Hanoi has no reception. Although initially off-putting the reception staff (Simone) went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and get us sorted.

United KingdomWe were told we didn't need to reserve for dinner which was a mistake. During high season you definately need to book a place for dinner in Begur.
Breakfast was good - had all the basics (yogurt, fruit, bread, cheese, ham), coffee and tea. The room was quite big with twin beds (which we asked for), an other space with little table and wardrobe, a patio, and a good sized bathroom. Location was fantastic for walking around the town - so easy to go to dinner and have a few drinks and walk back to room. The hotel had a shuttle that dropped us off at the beach which was very nice. They picked up too, but could only hold 6 people at a time so one group had to wait until the shuttle made a round trip back. They organised a picnic lunch for us upon request (we went kayaking one day) with an extra charge of Euro15/pp. One of the staff did make a reservation at their sister restaurant on the last night as we couldn't find a place in Begur to eat. We needed to drive there even though only 3 min away as it's down a long hilll with no walking path.

SpainNothing, great price for a charming little hotel
Excellent little hotel/B&B, full of character and a short walk to the centre of Begur and it’s great bars and restaurants. If you like small boutique hotels this is great choice, as is the sister hotel the petit convent.

United KingdomThere was a strong perfume smell in the room when we arrived. Unfortunately, it was so overwhelming that we had to keep the window open as long as possible to air and the first night we struggled with sore eyes and sneezing.
The staff were friendly, location perfect, and the building and decoration so peaceful and beautiful. For a quiet weekend getaway it was great and perfectly priced.
