Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainGetting access to the place was hellish. The door handle was very loose and we could not gain entrance. They did answer my WhatsApp and eventually someone came. BUT even though we got through the main door, the code to our room was wrong. Even the assistant could not gain entry. Apparently they had changed the code but had not informed anyone! After a lot of talking, the assistant got the code and we managed to get in. It was SO noisy in the night. This is a student area and they were partying until at least 2am. The bed was awful and the shower was built for a dwarf. But, it was ok. At least we had somewhere to stay. I wouldn't stay here again.
The price, for central Madrid was excellent.

AustraliaWe could hear the noisey people in the room next to us all night. The shower was in the bedroom space which wasn’t very comfortable. All in all very cramped.
Nice location, clean and simple room.

PhilippinesIt is very basic. I have been there a few times and sometimes the room smells like smoke. There are no hangers and the sockets are in odd locations. The pillows need changing. The sheets usually have permanent stains, which is ironic when I spilled some energy drink on them they charged me extra. I spent 3 days and there was never a cleaning service during the day to replace sheets or clean the floors. Not having a reception is an issue as guest will have some problems eventually. Most people also do not understand the door code they sent by email, they sent 2 sets of 4 digit code and a lot people do not understand that you have to key in all 8 consecutively, so there are loud bangings on the door of frustrated guests not being able to get in. There are some hostals nearby that have roughly the same price. It is a pity because the hostel is near the metro and the center. I hope they will try to improve, I hope at least have some staff on site and replace the pillows and bedsheets. I also hope they charge the people who smoke in the rooms.
Location was near the center.

United KingdomEverything is extremely run-down and shoddy, definitely not worth what I paid. There was only one plug beside the bed, which didn't work when I arrived and had to be called in to get fixed, and then you have the choice of charging something or using the bedside lamp, not doing both. The door had large gaps around it that let in all the light from the corridor, all around it, and it felt like the bathroom could fall apart at any moment. Also no soap in the bathroom, and terrible towels.
Location is good

GermanyDoor locks seem to be very loose all over the place, like it's easy to break in. Plus the walls are so thin that you can hear everything, so that it's not easy to stay asleep.
Fair price.

KazakhstanThere is a really bad smell in the room and it doesn't make your stay in the room comfortable. The shower did not have any curtains or doors and it was hard to take a shower without making the bathroom full of water. There was no cleaning service in 3 days, i think at least there should be some help as taking the trash out since we had only one little waste bag in the bathroom and it was not enough for 3 days. The check in process in super uncomfortable as you need to call them and text and so on. It would have been easier to get the instructions through Booking and not spending hours to contact (no one answered in the beginning). Especially if the person is a foreigner (no Spanish sim card) or does not speak Spanish, it can be very tough. I hope the administration will take into consideration these above-mentioned stuff.
The location was good.

MexicoCheck in was a pain in the heck, you never see a live person to handle a key or tell you where your room is or why wifi signal is not on. After a long trip overseas is a bad idea to figure this things out. Room is so small with a huge armor inside that takes a chunk of the space. Laberinth to get the pension and not to mention the room. Not even neighbors of same building know the place.
I can say bed and bath were clean.

SpainThey didn’t have the room prepared at the appointed time so we had to wait 20 mins extra. Once we got in the room , the floor was still wet ,the bed was really shaky and not comfortable in addition to that , the door lock wasn’t in the best condition and the window blinds were broken, so you couldn’t fully raise it. I wouldn’t recommend it even to my worst enemy . Apart from the good location in the city centre , everything else was a total disaster
