Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Location. Next door to the Metro stop. Staff is helpful and courteous. Front desk available 24/7 and helped us get a taxi for early morning flight.

The only thing we would mention is the noise. We could hear the noise coming from the subway trains passing by or the street/school noises.
The room was clean and tidy. We really liked the position of the building. Close to subway and to different bus stops.

Too expensive for what you get- rooms very hot even with open windows, very small rooms and there was a noise coming from water pipes and made difficult to sleep. I would be happy to stay here for 60eur max. But 100 eur is too muuch for a room like this. Idk what has happened with prices in Madrid and Barcelona- they do not match the offer!!!!
Staff was very friendly and nice. Location is great if you want to be near the station or see Montjuic!

Like so many Euro hotels, a kettle and tray of coffee/tea sachets just doesn’t come into their thinking.
We were pleasantly surprised, probably because the name Hostal suggests something less in Australia. Modern looking place with a clean and comfortable bedroom and a good bathroom. Wouldn’t want to stay in it for a week but perfectly fine for a couple of days.

Nothing really.
A functional hotel, nothing fancy, but it's good for a short stay, very convenient for Barcelona Sants train station and reasonably priced. A busy neighbouhood but my room was quiet and relaxing. Good, clean private bathroom.

Simple but clean and modern rooms. Pretty roomy. Very well located since it is close to Sants station. Lots of great restaurants and cafes around. All the staff in the front desk were friendly and provided great service.

We stayed here twice, both rooms were clean with good showers. However, the second room had a nicer bathroom... Friendly staff, easy walking distance from the train station and a really nice café just around the corner.

Room was hot but I opened the terrace door and bathroom window to cool it off. With the windows open it was loud but the street noise died off by 21h30. With windows closed it was quiet. I could hear noise from above me and from the pipes but it wasn't horrible (and I hate noise). For the price and location, it was a good place to spend the night.
Great location only 800 meters from Sants Train station. Lots of grocery and restaurants to choose from.in the area and a boardwalk to stroll on. The metro was also close by to go into town if you want as well as lots of taxis around. The room was basic but comfortable and had a small terrace. The staff was great and let me store my bags for a couple of hours.

The trains were noisy until quite late . The metro line mist run pretty much underneath. Dodgy wifi with an out of date certificate. A bit expensive for quite a basic room .
Its a five minute walk from Barcelona Sants and right next to a metro station anyway. Has a cafeteria and the room had its own shower. Clean and handy for onward travel

Lack of kettle in the room might be understandable but there is no single kettle in whole hostel. I could not get why. Also sound of metro might be problematic for those with sleeping troubles.
Clean and cosy room, but not too big though. Seems also renovated not long ago. Staff friendly and helpful. Location very good with metro and lots of shops and restaurants nearby.
