Excellent breakfast with a broad selection of meats and grains. The desk staff was very helpful for dinner and taxi reservations. The hotel is very located for a quick stay in the heart of Barcelona.

To ve honest, there wasn't anything that was a problem.

This was our second stay at the hotel in the past 2 weeks. Our stay this time was just as wonderful. The staff were amazing always friendly and helpful. You always felt welcomed. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We will stay here again when we return to Barcelona.

The pools are still mandatorily closed which is such a shame. The lobby would welcome a new refreshed makeover in lighter colours. It is dark and heavily perfumed so didn’t invite chilling there or drinking at the bar.

We love the location and our room was really comfy and quiet so we slept really well. The rooftop bar and chill out area is totally wonderful after a busy sightseeing day

The shower was a little hit and miss with pressure but didn't take anything away from our stay

Oh we had the most amazing time!! The hotel is perfectly situated and is just lovely. The bed we super comfortable and we slept very well. The room was gorgeous and the staff friendly. The breakfast each day was fabulous with lots of options. The view from the roof top bar was superb and the staff in the downstairs made excellent cocktails. We were thier for my husbands 40th and on his birthday there was a bottle of cava, balloons and cake!! I cannot cannot thank you all enough for that. We had the greatest time thank you

I can mention very few, but when necessary, the price, which I find a bit high even with a discount, and the mechanical and unkind way the receptionists treat the guests was surprising.

Nice hotel with spacious rooms and an unlikely central location. The bathrooms are comfortable, the hotel has a feeling of luxury from the reception through the corridors to the beautifully decorated rooms. The hotel even provided a nice surprise, which we thank them for!

Like many hotels this one uses some kind of air freshener in the lobby and other common areas and it was pretty heavy perfume. Wasn’t wild about the only coffee option at the breakfast buffet being a Nespresso type of machine. Didn’t like the consistency of the scrambled eggs at the breakfast buffet

Outstanding location, attractive decor, good size room, comfortable bed and pillows, quiet and effective A/C, excellent WiFi, complimentary bottle of champagne, all staff speak excellent English

Only disappointment was that due to the current drought in Barcelona, both the spa pool, and the rooftop pool were closed. Rooftop bar was also closed from 5pm, although drinks could be taken up to the rooftop bar via the lift.

Reception staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Room was an excellent size, clean and nice decor. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Location of hotel was great with most tourist sites within walking distance. Breakfast was varied and good quality, and service was excellent.

We had to move rooms as we could hear the metro in our bedroom everytime it went past! This kept us awake. We were offered a different room immediately without any problem at all

THIS IS BEYOND THE CONTROL OF THE HOTEL!! But both the swimming pools are closed and will be for the foreseeable future due to water usage restrictions in place in the whole of Catalunya. We had to just move on from this disappointment

The location is amazing an easy walking to most Barcelona highlights. The roof top bar is a must, beautiful views in the afternoon sun. The reception/bar area is very welcoming and comfortable as are the rooms. The staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to make your stay. We traveled as a family of 6 adults (parent, kids and their partners) 2 birthdays whilst we were there which hotel 1898 acknowledged with Cava and cake delivered to the room and at breakfast!!

The main thing was that we were in a standard room and the adjacent room clearly had its bathroom to the back of our bed wall. Was very difficult to sleep hearing every single detail in the bathroom with the shower and cistern flushing. Therefore sleep could’ve been a little bit better had the soundproofing been adequate. Rooftop bar was amazing with great views, but sadly only limited to open until 5 pm which meant that you couldn’t really see the sunset. Also, the swimming pools were closed for some reason.

Lovely and unique boutique hotel. Very inviting lobby and friendly staff who cannot do enough. Great touch with welcome drinks and an added Thank you with a bottle of Prosecco delivered to the room were nice touches.
